I love spending literal days catching up on this thread thinking it must be moving so fast because something new was leaked but it turns out it was just you know who shitting up the thread again.

That class alignment thing sounds a little too convoluted. We couldn't have race specific class spells because it's too confusing for pvp, but now we can change spec names entirely? Right after they make the tool tip when you mouse over someone show their spec? That seems like a mess.

I think the idea would be that players learn what the new "spec" names are called and aren't surprised by what they look like.

Or they don't care about the pvp thing anymore.

Alignments sound neat but also a massive amount of work, too. Though it would at least be a step toward my wish of customizing colors of spells and the like.

Ye, I caught that bit when you said it earlier. I just caught up 12 Pages and reacted as I went. I was following his line of thinking (not agreeing with), only to then immediately run into the 40 Kilometer Brick Wall discussion. I'm intrigued it's been around for so long, but hey. Bcon 2022, what you're saying, as usual, makes perfect sense. Neat that they seemingly didn't give up on some of the things they had planned for the 22 Con at least! Think the Ysera Murloc could be chosen in a similar vein, more aligned with DF, but developed later for this Bcon?

You know what, neat idea, not buying it. But this is one of the rare ones where they could actually use the concept effectively.

There's lots of stuff we can just learn, but all that at once when they wouldn't even let us recolor a handful of abilities previously doesn't ring true for me. And I badly want class skins.

Imagine trying to post a recruitment of some kind and having to list 3 different names for one spec.

Nightborne DH with Arcane powers would be absolutely insane.

So, just recently they flat out removed a demon option from warlocks because "class silhouette" and more consistent class visuals, and now you are telling us that some form of class skins are happening where, not only do we get different spell effects but whole spells get replaced?

Or that the specs get entirely new names?
Blizzard isn't gonna make us memorize several seperate names for each individual spec of each class.

They put a whole lot into random racial options this expansion despite also having a new race/pretty elaborate mount customization.

I don't think it's super unreasonable in scope for a main expansion feature. If a lot of the change is just tinting or modifying existing class spells, or reusing existing spell effects from mobs and bosses or whatnot, it'd be pretty manageable.

Also the Sunwell/Moonwell thing would definitely explain the currently pointless Nelf and Belf boats. Unless those are straight up Goldshire HD-tier "not relevant for years" then I think they have to play into the next expansion. They aren't boats used in any current content (including BGs)

Ysergle seems to be from around 10.0.5, so could have been BlizzCon from the start or something else, timeframe is a bit murky there (no pun intended).

Need a way to get to Moonwells and Sunwells. Unless Avaloren is full of them.

I always feel that the nature of making wow into an esport limits the fun nature at time. While I don’t think things should be OP and it should be readable. The notion warlocks can’t have a certain pet is just silly from blizz part.

But like, what would the function be? There's just a random dock in Avaloren that has boats that take you Quel'danas and I dunno, Lor'danel? to give you access to a moonwell or sunwell?

Feels like a whole lot of asset creation effort and out of place when you could just leave people to fly to Duskwood/ashenvale/Hyjal/portal from SW docks to Darkshore for a moonwell, and have a mage port you to SMC or Org > Tirisfal portal > FP to Quel'danas for the sunwell.

More like SMC will be getting a revamp (where players need to go to align themselves, so it wouldn't just be for flavor) so there's a boat to go there somewhere in the existing continents as opposed to just a portal.

Currently a Belf boat can't physically take you to SMC so there's probably a reason they are bothering to remodel the Belf boat(s? I think there are two models)

Let's not bring that debate over here, after what's up on Twitter. Nothing limits anything other than Blizzard, frankly. Everything you aren't doing doesn't immediately affect what you are doing, in most cases. And that's not how Teams at Blizzard work.
