That's not what it says. It says they are acting like the Earthen who became Dwarves: All the Earthen who became Dwarves. They're mapping a set of symptoms, not making a cultural evaluation. You're talking like we don't already know that the personality changes they're talking about are well-established as being part of the curse of flesh.

All the Tyr reports are in direct relation with Yogg-Saron, who caused the curse of flesh & corrupted Galakrond. That's what connects them together. If your interpretation is correct all the Tyr logs are about how they discovered Yogg was infecting things outside its prison, except this one log which is about Dwarves for some unrelated reason.

4 years in advance actually. They say they start working on an expansion as soon as the previous one is released.

Is this curse of flesh Yogg related? And what was the whole children of the first flesh thing? This is getting exciting.

More than that. They also said they have 3-4 expansion concepts lined up in advance. What they mean with 4 years is the actual development.
Also they admitted that they already started planning BfA and SL based on the reception of Legion launch and how it was too late to change the design and why we had things like AP on all 3 expansions.
So, it's closer to 6 years from brain storming, designing, planning, pre production and full development.

Yes, the curse of flesh was caused by Yogg. With that said, from a speculative angle, Yogg has done odd things with powers that were possibly not originally his (see Galakrond being very decay-based, and an anomoly that was never repeated). They could always write something in to slightly retcon the Curse in this sense if they wanted.

Children of the first flesh refers to a line in A Song of the Depths; a Naga book in the Forbidden Reach that alludes to the scheming of Iridikron/Azshara/probably-Xal.

My personal imagining is that it's something of a variant of the Curse of Flesh, not the normal thing: I like to think they aren't actually becoming organic lifeforms, but are instead going to wind up as inorganic but free-willed beings.

If we are going to Northrend—which seems plausible going off the datamined Gryphon looking very Saronesque in nature—Khaz Algar could also be the origin of the Frostborn.

That's what I figure. I doubt they'll be the centerpiece of the expansion, just a faction we interact with.

It's a report on a group exhibiting the same symptoms as the Earthen who Became Dwarves even though they've had no contact with them. That's the entire significance of this report.
No, that quite literally means they aren't transforming physically in the same way Dwarves did. Which is precisely the part where they aren't following the normal progression of the curse.

And I do hope they changed this or are planning to change this. If that's how Post-Legion happened in a lot of ways and things were planned and prepared that far in advance, the system is, sorry to be using the word, flat out RETARDED. The moment AP started failing, there needed to be room to course correct.

Planning the Story in advance is what I thought was happening, but planning more than that would be so incredibly stupid, it can't take much to realize that. It's not even remotely flexible, because with Game Projects you can't ever get into that mindspace of "This is 100% gonna work out", there's a reason why Games that take risks succeed as hard as they do, when they do. And with AAA Studios being the way they are (not taking risks etc.) they especially can't afford to then in turn RISK sitting on a pile of shit for 6 years, because the thing they planned out started falling apart 2 years in and somehow it's unable to be changed?

I'm not sure we can read into the glow very much without seeing it mapped to a model in practice. You could also say that the glow wouldn't look out of place with those wowexdev pictures and that dreadlordy thing totally has a void beard that wouldn't be out of place on a not-quite-dwarf but let's not go there

Exactly right. I don't know why some posters don't understand that point. It's quite important, and adds mystery to what the analomy is that's causing that phenomenon to happen.

But to the main point; Khaz Algar =/= Dwarves

I just want them to bring back the in game style feature trailer. Those are hype and i missed it for DF.

Your point being? The Keepers wouldn't be wondering what's happening if Khaz'goroth was involved.

A Dwarf expansion would be a really good idea, they're a fantasy trope Warcraft nailed. Everything about them is epic. Big siege engines, living in volcanoes, humble and jolly people but go hard when it's time for battle.

I am 100% on board with a Dwarf centric expac. It would carry better than a human or elf themed expac much better at this point people are exhausted by them.

I think now we know why Decatriarch Wratheye left her dungeon: we are going to get into the origins of Decay and how Yogg used it when making Galakrond. I think Yogg will definitely be in the background here, and we'll finally learn how he did both the curse of flesh and the Galakrond corruption.

I wonder if Khaz Algar houses Uldaz, which could be the Titan machinery used to order the planet. I could see the initial patch be the new zone/landmass/underground in that area. I wonder if the intro experience could be us trying to persuade the 'herectics' to join us as apposed to Xalatath, acting as a Nyalarthotep character trying to recruit them also. Leading to the patch content using the machinery of Uldaz to re-write the damage the cataclysm caused to the planet and reshape the original continents.

So patch 11.0 = Avaloren. 11.1 = Northern Kalimdor, 11.2 Southern Kalimdor, 11.3 Southern EK, 11.4 Northern EK. Probably an incredibly high expectation. But interesting possibility if they wanted to slowly roll out a roll revamp.

Would make sense for Iridikron to go there to 'Break the titans grasp' on the planet, by using voidy disc to remake the planet with Void influence.

wow borrows a lot from fantasy - is there anything that looks like a dwarf? that could be this separate mutation?

I'm ready for the elements to rise
Blizz ditched chromatus for the incarnates
Redeem themselves by letting us crush the elemental lords

Bonus points if Xal has a cult there
I'm ready for void dwarves and blind mole men and slug slingers and all the pop culture references

Plus hopefully no shitting on lore or character because something changed their wrathion direction after 10.0 from a child to the dragon from BfA
