Okay, I'm sorry.

I don't use Forums often (on any site), so I also apologize to the user who pointed out that the post doesn't match the discourse style and purpose of the thread. I opened a "recent thread" from the homepage and dropped an idea that has been my copium for years, altering it to match the discourse style that I've seen users on X say is the most fun.

I will stand by that it is what we deserve.

But as for my speculation, so I can contribute meaningfully before not returning to Forums for another year:
I think we will get a world revamp where, unlike Cataclysm, creating rich and immersive environments is prioritized over fidelity the prior map, allowing them to and increase the land mass while also redrawing the shape of mountain ranges, coast lines, and zone boundaries. Redrawing zones could allow them to add in previously "unnoticed" areas... an entrance to a mountain cave, for example?? I think, like Cataclysm, we'll have a few new zones (Khaz'Algar, Tel'Abim??) that develop storyline, a few old zones in which content is centered (I'd like to see Blackrock Mountain, for example), and I think patches will develop content that bring us around our new old world.

I think that they'd also need to relinquish the idea that the zones NEED to be filled with story and quest right at launch, but I'd be okay with that to see Kalimdor and EK developed again.

Or maybe that's just what I feel we deserve again.

World Soul:
-Avaloren is the "Bermuda Triangle" of Azeroth.
-Each zone has a surface half and an underground half. Underground is not like Zaralek, there are many different biomes like Journey to the Center of the Earth.
-Player housing ONLY in Avaloren. Different professions make different furniture and decorations via work order system.
-Some classes get new support specs like Bard Rogue and Gladiator Warrior, which uses shouts and banners to "hype up the crowd (raid)."
-Pre-order bonus unlocks all classes for dracthyr in future patch (10.2.7) except DK and DH. They start in Exile's Reach.
-Undermine Dungeon with Gallywix is in the pre-expansion event.
-Besides Algar dwarves there's a human kingdom with similar origins.
-There's also a race of ant people called myrmid/myrmin (not sure of the spelling). There are good black ants we ally with and evil fire ants who are the first raid.

That's all I know. Can't say how for obvious reasons.

I'd be down with this. Housing would probably get ported to other areas later.

Orcs on a beach is such a hilariously alien concept that now I want it as an expansion, damnit.

This is what we could have had with Tal Abim....

Given the precedence of every expansion since WoD that's highly doubtful.

You are saying because Thrall, former orc leader, is there, then the only choice is elemental. This is despite the fact the current expansion we're in has a Very Blatent Elemental theme to it already and the main villain team have a whole 4 elements thing going

There is exactly as much evidence to that as a revitalised Outland expansion, especially since ever since Cata, Thrall has specifically been on Outland itself. The last time we saw him in a cinematic it was the one with Saurfang even. Why would we jump to 'elementals' when that is clearly also relevant?

The elemental mount can be discarded because Blizzcon mounts don't share themes with the expansion and tend to just be whatever, and regardles it is completely overdone with "Gryphons are the one non-dragon skeleton mount that has dragonriding animations", suggesting that it is, in fact, a gryphon.

Neltharion = Deathwing.

Yes, I am aware Neltharion is Deathwing. We don't actually encounter Neltharion in this expansion because he's dead. We do run into the shadows of his presence and fight a Faceless One using his image as a disguise, but Neltharion himself is dead and gone. Alextrasza is the key dragon image character, not him. Heck, the only time we see Deathwing proper is during that quest as Tyr

The sword is going to get pulled out of Silithus and that's going to be the underground zone. It's why streamers and whoever else have been showing scarabs / caves and all of that junk. I don't know if someone has said anything like this yet, they probably have but there's too many pages in this thread so far.

I'd dig seeing underneath Silithus/the Qiraji empire, but chances are the scarab stuff is just a revamp of the day of the scarab mini holiday (and associated Trading Post stuff for January), since that would be within 10.2's timespan.

I will say the Bermuda Triangle one seems unlikely to me in that the preorder bonus is 10.2.7.

For one, that patch got skipped in the files lately (10.2.5 and then 11.0). Also.. a preorder bonus you don't get until mid 2024?

It's cool, honestly fake leak season can be super entertaining in its own right. I kinda wish for 12.0 we get a stickied thread to contain any 'leaks'/discussion thereof; it would keep the spam to a minimum while encouraging some of the crazier speculation. Coming up with big brain logic to rationalise some of the wackier posts can be a fun way to pass the time, and it's fun to see when someone accidentally strikes it lucky.

Can we compile a list of plot threads/changes that need to be reflected when (Ion confirmed it's a when, not an if) the revamp happens? Trying to think of how many zones already have new stories seeded into them (or plots that were dropped and never progressed past Cata) and how many would need new ideas from the ground up.

So you're saying that there's no way that Blizzard could use an elemental mount in an "More to be revealed" advertisement to tease us that WoW's next expansion is elemental based?

I'm saying it is a huge stretch to use it a mount as one of your pieces of 'evidence' for being an 11.0 tease when it was;

- Added in Shadowlands
- Made at the same time (Nov 2021 or earlier) as the regular snow elemental creature that shares most of its textures (all but 1, probably the armor) and sounds
- Added around the same time as Dragonflight pre-order rewards
- Likely meant for the BlizzCon in the following year

I'm not saying it can't or won't be an elemental expansion, I have no hard dataminable evidence pointing either way, noone in this thread does, I'm just saying it is silly to treat something added in 9.2 as a hint/basis for an 11.0 theory. They don't add stuff that far in advance and when they reuse something that old it is almost always, if not always, because the original reason it was added didn't pan out (e.g. BlizzCon 2022).

The hilarious thing is that I'm actually not. I'm simply arguing that that "More to be revealed" advert is likely a hint of literally what's to come since it lines up with other stuff.

I mean, they still have the "BlizzCon Collection" (the artist formerly known as the Virtual Ticket) announcement coming up, it's likely just for that. And again, no way it could have been made as an intentional hint for an 11.0 announcement.

Regardless of what 11.0 happens to be, if your theory is "they used the only unused non-Dragonflight encrypted mount that happens to be an elemental for the virtual ticket to tease 11.0 because it fits with my suspicions of what 11.0 is", then by all means go for it but definitely don't go around calling that "evidence".

I've talking about this with one of the mods before, I don't think it would work because you'd have several people discussing different leaks with very hard to follow quote threads. Maybe a subforum would suffice, but then this thread would be in danger of stepping both inside "real world" and "speculation" subforums which right now is covered by only one subforum. Might be a discussion I pick back up before 12.0, though.

I've talking about this with one of the mods before, I don't think it would work because you'd have several people discussing different leaks with very hard to follow quote threads. Maybe a subforum would suffice, but then this thread would be in danger of stepping both inside "real world" and "speculation" subforums which right now is covered by only one subforum.
