I mean, I speculate as well but I make it very non-definitive which makes it far less interesting to discuss.
Yeah, I think this would be the best way to go about it, basically limited testing of the feature before they expand it to the old world. Would be the best way to introduce it.

The crooked shitposter with no eyes is watching from the endless thread.
From the space that is everywhere and nowhere, the crooked shitposter feasts on memes.

You know what, with all the druid forms and the customization options they are adding in 10.2, I could even see using "placeholder" forms for some races. By "placeholder" I mean different colors of existing models and then adding proper forms during the expac. Iirc Lightforged Draenei Palading got their mount during SL, so there would be a precedent.
The reaso nthey have not unlocked dragon riding outside the isles is it is like cross-faction play.
Once they give it to us, they can't take it away.
so they are waiting to make sure they want to do it, before they give it to us.
they want to make sure it works, that players want it, that they want it.
once they are sure, they will give it to us, until then we will have to wait.
cause if they give it to us, then for whatever reason have to take it away, that would be catastrophic.
True, also needed extra cosmetic work with them. The mounts.
This came up when I googled race class combos and really shaman, druid, paladin are the last ones that make sense to open for all. The additional race-specific cosmetics probably caused them to be done last.
For Evokers... really can't see that working for anything else. For Demon Hunters... they should at least expand it out to Void Elf and Nightborne?

Yeah this reminds me of the general flying conundrum. Once they added it to zones, if they had zones where you couldn't fly players call it "taking flying away" and that has been the case every expansion since it was introduced.
Committing to dragonriding also means a commitment to Dragon Isles-sized zones forever, as well.
If anything I see more so dracthyr getting all the classes
but evoker will liekly stay ALWAYS dracthyr only, however they may add all the other races to dracthyr, just with less customization, like literally just likely horns.
But who knows, they could do something with all the rest of the races by giving them animations, and have them gain wings/tail JUST for the specific abilities that require it. So they would be "humanoids" that take on aspects of dragon kind for specific spells.
Yeah, as they said from the start, they do not want to bring dragon riding anywhere else, until they are sure this will be a feature going forward.
As of now it is still just a "dragonflight feature" but with how the playerbase has overall loved it, It is safe to assume they will be carrying it forward. But nothing official yet of course.
Also with dragon riding I would even be fine with even bigger zones, with more space between the stuff, with how fast it is to travle I am perfectly fine with long open fields with little to nothing in them, to make the world feel big.
