I mean the tenth expansion and the 20 year anniversary of the game. There will never ever be a more appropriate time for a revamp than now.

I almost fully believe they're intending to do a revamp, but they expect the community to stick around for it in 12.0 or 13.0. Which would suck

After WoD and SL they hopefully learned that taking their playerbase for granted is the worst they can do. But if not....the MMO market is vast.

If 11.0 is not a World Revamp or at least a partial attempt at World Revamp, i'd just skip it. I couldn't care less about another hidden continent in the mist for thousand of years or another planet/dimension with le usual 4/5 zones and 8 dungeons ect...

They've been making communication improvements this xpac, but I just can't help but feel like they're not ready to push it, which is bad news for us hopefuls

We're not even sure dragons go to the Shadowlands, do they?. The green may be an exception and go to Ardenweald because their connection to Nature.

I think it would be best if it becomes normal to have a small new raid plus fated raids as the 4th season of an expansion. Everyone keeps saying "Well we can finish up the story in minor patches" but they know people expect a big conclusion to the story in the last raid. Stopping Fyrakk doesn't really feel like the climax of Dragonflight.

I too really want a revamp, but I wouldn't stop playing if there wasn't one. Though Ion's comments make me believe that there's one coming soon.

A revamp and class skins would seriously be amazing though. Assuming the revamp introduces new starting zone experiences for every race of course.

most people underestimate wow 2, which could bring a breath of fresh air that's definitely needed

and don't even get me started on the "yeah, but no, because people will never want to lose their entire collection"! personally, i don't give a shit about losing everything if it's just to get back on the right foot and experience a new adventure.

however, i don't think Blizzard would take that risk, it's a AAA with no ambition

What's WoW 2? A whole different game, with different gameplay and barely connecting lore like Guild Wars 2?

The revamp has always been happening slowly with blizz updating old textures and assets and creature models...

That's a better use of time and resources.


We're not gonna get another cata level revamp.

They don't wanna make the same mistake they did with cata in that we'll lose the old world and content from it. And I seriously doubt they wanna manage cata world at the same time with this hypothetical revamp via bronze dragons.

The reason why we needed cata was for two reasons.

1) we needed flying in the old world.

2) to refurbish the leveling experience for alts and new players.

Since we obviously have flying already and the leveling has been further worked on with chromie time and ER then there's no reason to remake Kal and EK yet again.

All we need is just all old school textures to be made into HD versions and that's it.

and many others are inspired by GW2
like dragonriding for example...

Because GW2 is a completely different game from GW1 and a lot of people who enjoyed GW1 definitely did not enjoy GW2?

Is it worth losing your core playerbase just to change things up for... reasons?
