Looks like a void creature done in the same aesthetic as the demon in the WoD cinematic. The cinematics are always hyper-realist takes on the more stylized in game versions. I don't think it's real though but it totally fits with how the cinematics look.

Even if we give that it is an Old God, that would mean the cinematic is just what, the Old God rising out of the sea and monologuing at us? That's a bit... boring.

I love the name "Voidstorm."

Cheers, had a lot of fun when I came up with it and its associated leak back in August.

The idea was to combine what I feel are the two major components of the next expansion, storms and the Void, in a way that seems thematically appropriate with Queen Azshara and her abilities. It also has a decent ring to it, which helps.

That said, I doubt Voidstorm will be the name at this point.

Legion was a specific word connected to the Burning Legion, and Shadowlands is a real place tied to Death. Voidstorm would be a made up word by comining two other words, and it doesn't immediately tell lapsed players what it's about.

Once more and more people have access to promo material (posters, signage, etc) I think we'll get our first obviously real leak about a week out from the event.
