True, the addition of dragon riding animations to the grpyhon proves nothing other then "There is ATLEAST 1 gryphon mount that will get the ability to dragon ride."
But odd we have this brand new gryphon mount datamined that even has customziable features, as you can see various different beaks.
Totally not related...
me want!
But yeah, I could totally see that based on books from 10.2:
* Eonar plants Elun'ahir in Avaloren
* It starts spewing out diverse life forms
* Aman'thul plucks it from the earth
* It leads to the destruction of a part of Avaloren in it's original form
* Aman'thul thinks the tree is gone, but the roots have survived. Eonar knows that.
* Eventually, shortly after the Titans left, fissures start to appear in Avaloren
* Odin sends Earthen to investigate
* Slowly, it turns out that the fissure is caused by the still-growing roots of Elun'ahir
* The anomaly is caused by the lingering essence of Elune
* The Earthen start to worship Elune and through the Curse of Flesh + Elune's essence they turn to wood instead of stone
* Odin sees it as a heresy, starts to send ships to fight them, but to no avail
* In effort to stop the spread of Elun'ahir roots and Elune's influence, Odin puts up the magical storms around the backside of Azeroth
* For some reason, at the end of Dragonflight "The Lord of Ravens will turn the key" and stop the magical storms
* We go there in 11.0. Iridikron and Xal'atath attempt to feed void and the Essence of Galakrond into the roots of Elun'ahir. By now they surely reach wide and deep, so they may be the best way to inject the entire planet with void.
yes, i beleive exactly that, because they could have done the same with all the dragon mounts in 10.0, but they didnt.
so why would they do it for grpyhons?
If we are goign to get "all mounts can dragon ride" it will be ALL of them at once, and likely in the next expansion.
Why wouldn't they? Then the people who buy the Heroic edition have an unique mount. The only gryphon that can dragonride. That is till Blizzard turns it on for all other mounts. The dude doesn't even know what he's arguing for. Let alone all the stretching and grasping he does...
Because they haven't added the dynamic/static flying toggle that was datamined in 10.1.5 into the game yet. Once they add that (which will probably be in 10.2) it will open up dragonriding to all those mounts, new and old.
More than likely, Blizzard is waiting until they unlocked static flying for the dragon isles. Once that is unlocked, you could ride any dragon, gryphon, etc. you want and switch between static flying and dynamic flying while in dragon isles.
Again, look for that when we get dynamic/static flying. And we're probably getting that at some point in 10.2. I highly doubt it will be a feature in the next expansion. If we are goign to get "all mounts can dragon ride" it will be ALL of them at once, and likely in the next expansion.
Yeah I think the CE mount is a gryphon that, like the Mythic Somnowl, is just early access to dragonriding on a non-dragon mount. Then that unlock for all gryphons (and somnowls) will come with either 10.2.5 or 11.0.
So you think Blizzard is saving this;

For 11.0?
Except its not, cause why would they go through all this effort to have pathfinder, and allow normal flying in the dragon isles as an acheivement that needs to be unlocked, if they are just adding a toggle in the same patch, that they are for some reason keeping a secret?

yep, that or maybe 10.2.5 or 10.2.7 or even 10.3 if we are getting a 10.3, because if it was in 10.2, why would they not just... announce it?
I think this is the greatest and longest Teriz thread hijack I ever member. It keeps going on day after day. Sort of a fascinated here.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.
Teriz, I'm not saying anything other than it is reductive to discussion when you approach everything with your opinion as fact.
As of now, it's not in 10.2. It could come in 10.2.5, 10.2.7, or even as a feature in 11.0.
We do not know, we just know right now it's not in the game. It is completely baseless for you to say it's probable to be in 10.2, and you badgering anyone who refutes your significantly less than solid claim is tirelessly frustrating.
Well, then we're just getting into semantics into what "Dragonriding" means. The heroic edition mount (by all evidence) has Appearance Customization, which is something only "Dragonriding" mounts have. So in that sense at that point it would be a Dragonriding mount. Hell, the name of the feature might formally change to "Stormriding" once the next expansion is announced since its not a dragon-exclusive thing anymore. (assuming the alternative is added)Because everyone else has been really insistent that those will be Gryphon related? Take that up with us because you know Teriz spent 100 pages saying "there's no evidence those are dwarf related." You can't resent someone for having a hard stance and also changing his mind.
Parentheticals added for people who can't infer information.

This is right under that.

All I ever wanted was the truth. Remember those words as you read the ones that follow. I never set out to topple my father's kingdom of lies from a sense of misplaced pride. I never wanted to bleed the species to its marrow, reaving half the galaxy clean of human life in this bitter crusade. I never desired any of this, though I know the reasons for which it must be done. But all I ever wanted was the truth.
Imo, it seems logical to me to leave dragons as main dragonriding mounts for Dragonflight, and the rest can come in 11.0
