No other mount has these visuals at all and it looks pretty "high borne"/naga to me

That model is used in the Emerald Dream zone in 10.2.

If I’m not mistaken, neither BfA nor SL had a store mount added which was a hint to the next expansion. The last one was in Legion with the Gunship/Zeppelin mounts and before that it was the Manasaber in WoD.

DF is a dragon expansion.

DF wasn't really about the elements, it was about dragons that happened to use them. There wasn't really much development on the elemental planes or anything, except for the fire lord randomly showing up as fodder for Fyrak's plans in the new raid. Who we're just going to kill anyway.

It’s not worth going over this again but there’s been almost a hundred pages of discussion around DF being an elemental expansion with most in favour of it being so with lots of evidence pointing towards it being one.

I don't think Amirdrassil and the Emerald Dream could ever replace Teldrassil, to be honest. The levelling zone Teldrassil is as iconic as Elwynn forest to old school players. The colour palette, the music, everything about it is just fantastic. I'd love to chill around an updated version using the 8.1.5 WSG assets.

Anyway, another dream scenario at BlizzCon would be a type of Warcraft single-player or shared world survival RPG.

Pick a character, like an Orc. Start your adventure with primitive gear, and make your way across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. From the shores of Desolace to the peaks of Dun Morogh. Sleep underneath the stars as the cold breeze embraces you, and keep a fire going to stay alive. Watch out for the wolves, though.

It's a bold choice and not one that I agree with. The new World Tree either shouldn't have been their home, or it should be in Kalimdor.

Moving them off Kalimdor, and that's what it would be, is just a bad solution.

Is there confirmation that Amirdrassil is going to specifically mature in the physical plane where we enter the emerald dream? I'm not discounting it, but I thought so far it was more ambiguous. Like, that everything including the raid is just the growth phase of the world tree but that it needs to be placed in the physical world, or grow through into it. The emerald dream is not a 1:1 replica of the current world.

I'm not saying it won't end up in the Dragon Isles--thematically dragonriders were a thing with nelfs before and including war of the ancients I think so it's not thematically off--but I also don't think it's quite cut and dry yet.
