Can we stop with the drought thing they literally are not doing a drought, they are cutting because they know they have the public leverage to communicate that there is no actual gaps involved due to the content cadence + fated argument.

Again, I don't get why people still keep talking about a gap. There is no gap, their plan is to push the Expansion up if anything of this sort occurs.

This is quite the leap to take unless you know for sure what they are doing.

Yes, a late summer release to get expansions back on track is a possibility, but it's hardly the only one. A world revamp to justify the lack of a 10.3 is also a possibility, as is a move towards Fated Season in lieu of an X.3 patch.
We don't know, which is why we discuss it.

People are going to speculate about it regardless of Holly reiterating their happiness with the 8 week content cycle because the roadmap has ended and we have no idea what to expect at Blizzcon at this point. One website interview isn't firm enough to quell all anxiety over what may come next, especially given how set in stone the expansion off year has been across all expansions.

I feel like if the game files are telling reality, the only real reason I can see this situation occurring is to push the game closer and closer every expansion to a annual release.

Otherwise this whole thing makes no legitimate sense to me as they are shooting their PR Strategy this entire expansion because they ran out of steam which in turn means that the sentiment they are sending to players is that if things get rough no matter what going forward and they have an excuse they will cut the product short. (Layoffs + WFH etc. etc. not withstanding to this equation.)

To be fair, they did let the PR and Marketing Team okay a 10.3 question for Morgan which contradicts the sentiments in the Gamespot Interview with Holly and Ion. Again, its a mess and disappointing that they could not keep the message straight.

They got like 3 new hair colors, which I guess is what they call "new customizations" lately. Happened with the forsaken too - just 3 skin colors.

It's so weird that belf customization gets called out on the plan as a major feature of the page with just a few hair colors so far and the forsaken... I don't think that was listed on the plan? Maybe I'm wrong I forget.

Regardless druids getting more customization for each of their forms than almost any race currently has is... sigh. Happy for them but I wish other classes got as much art dedication as druids historically have.

Yea, you're right. Dragonflight seems to be a new development direction from Blizzard, which is really encouraging in terms of consistent content even on a smaller patch scale. I guess the biggest question mark here is how long will it be between the final DF cadence patch and 11.0 release. Does a fated season bring anything other than just fated raids? It's a really interesting point we're at.

Yeah, that's key question how DF will be remembered, maybe in the past drought at the end was acceptable but I don't think it is anymore. Imo best scenario is 5-6 month S3, then half season for fated and release late Summer. Full fated season and November release will have mild response (also depends what we will see in 10.2.X patches). 2025 release is obviously wasting good reputation of DF support.

Few months ago we speculated that Fated could also come with new world content and next story chapter focused on retrieving Tyr's memory from Nighthold. Depends how long will it last I guess, probably if it's short we will just have story part as transition between 10.2 and 11.0. Also of course expect new M+ set (or maybe they just use 8 core DF dungeons together in single season, who knows), some small new mechanic for raids and faster gearing.

Honestly, I feel like we're already at the point where we could see a legit Leak and we'll immediately dismiss it because the smallest thing looks off (whether it is actually off, looks off due to image size/quality or whatever may be the case, maybe the design choice is just very out there).

I mean I am not denying that this whole "10.2 is the end" analysis through game files thing could be a deliberate bait by Blizzard for a specific audience that they knew would take this and run with it and then make them eat crow after Opening Ceremony.

I mean its a perfect setup in a way, dehype and make people worry.. Then announce everything is actually fine AND MORE.

I applaud the effort, and you did a good job with the kerning on the letters (most fake leaks get it wrong), but I feel like the real logo would have more detail than this. The text for "Stormbreaker" is beautifully done.

For sure, and it contributes to the apprehensive attitude in the community right now. They're very deliberately tightlipped, and people have been fooled enough times to know that it doesn't necessarily mean good news is coming.
