I’m saying that the overall tone of the Warcraft story is extremely different to that of the mid to late 2000s. We have had multiple different narrative leads, writers, and team members over that time period. Times evolve. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. But you cannot look at TBC/WotLK era WoW and say it is a similar vibe to Legion-DF era WoW.

Wasn’t aware of that, cheers. Maybe it will be then. It’s a bit shit for those hoping for the Night Elves to repopulate Northern Kalimdor but it is what it is.

If we do get a world revamp, I wonder what Northern Kalimdor will look like.
Using the trailer doesn't really illustrate that, is my point. The fan trailer doesn't show contrasting styles or changes in styles. It shows a highlight moment that resonates with fans. Hence the movie comparison. The story direction might have changed, but that trailer and comparing it to Dragonflight's cinematic wouldn't possible show that. They're completely unrelated. So my question would be, if you're not claiming it's a bad thing, then why is the fan trailer relevant at all? It's a cool thing. It's well animated, well shot. But does it show a shift in Blizzard's tone? Nope. Because Blizzard didn't make it. And there's absolutely no reason to believe they couldn't randomly throw more Shadowlands or BFA style grit into a cinematic if the situation called for it. It just hasn't so far.

    You have forgotten the wooons?

I think BfA had to many different main themes, none of which really got proper focus.

The dumb thing is that azerite isn’t actually boring with the way they lay it out in The novel where it can be used in a ton of different ways to advance wow tech.

And then none of that ever comes up beyond “it make big boom”.
All I ever wanted was the truth. Remember those words as you read the ones that follow. I never set out to topple my father's kingdom of lies from a sense of misplaced pride. I never wanted to bleed the species to its marrow, reaving half the galaxy clean of human life in this bitter crusade. I never desired any of this, though I know the reasons for which it must be done. But all I ever wanted was the truth.

I'm sure they just forgot about the Iron fleet Azerite. Shouldn't the heart of Azeroth also work just fine now that we are back from shadowlands? I am pretty sure they told us that it still has all its powers, but is simply useless in the shadowlands due to being disconnected from azeroth.

So many were lost at Teldrassil, including my beloved Aquinne. This pendant is all I have left of her after the Horde destroyed Teldrassil. It is my most prized possession.
I'm not a warrior or a priestess, just a simple angler. But when I heard this was to be our new home, I knew I had to do my part, no matter how small. It's what Aquinne would have wanted.
Such a small seed... but fueled by hope and by love, it thrives. The time will come when it will leave the Dream and come into Azeroth, grown and ready to fulfill its purpose.
And Merithra says it will leave the dream to fulfill it's purpose.

Mind, it is possible they could pull a "Well, all the great trees are connected and can be used for travel too and from the Dragon Isles".
But I'm not really sure how much that matters. It still pulls the Night Elves away from their ancestral homelands in a way that seems to a bit too much like rewarding the Horde for bad behavior.

So there's a new build on the PTR. Didn't a dev say last week that this one would be special? Release candidate perhaps?

I thought it cummed out all the azerite power when we used it on N'zoth and is now inert?

    Edit:

Just googled. Wow, you're right. It's still apparently full power. Maybe they're saving it for something. Feels weird we're just carrying this nuclear bomb around and not using it on any of these pressing threats.

Rewarding the Horde for bad behavior is how it usually goes.
All the benefits of their genocides, and none of the consequences.

Oh, I see. Sorry. I was reading a reply to a quote and filled in some blanks with stuff you weren't talking about and got confused.

Release candidate would be fun. Not been on the PTR since it opened, so not sure how much it realistically lacks.

The dev said they were looking forward to reactions to the "next PTR". Which could be 10.2.5, or could just mean that they were involved in something in the next build, like customization options not in previous builds.

No new build yet and realms are still up, might be tomorrow instead if realms don't go down in the next hour or 2.

Like with all the murder and trees being attacked, is it really that bad to have Amirdrassil beside the Aspects? Like its one way to keep it safe moving forward thats for definite. Maybe there will still be some NE in Darkshore and Ashenvale if there is a revamp as outposts or hubs etc but the capital is now on the Dragon Isles

So I guess the solution here is simple - we'll murder everyone.

It's all good. Largely, mind, just to be clarify either way..

I'm not really opposed to Night Elves being moved. Honestly, my stance on any part of WoW can be boiled down to "I don't really care what you do, I care how you do it".

It's a fantasy game. Literally anything can be justified if it's done well.

They're a secondary theme. The primary theme is dragons.

That said, it's no different than demons being a secondary theme in WoD and us getting a demonic invasion in Legion. I believe the main thing we should consider is that we're currently on a mysterious continent with dragons and titan constructs. People are now saying we're going to another mysterious continent with dragons and titan constructs in 11.0. I don't believe that's going to happen.

I hate to be the one to point this out, but if Teldrassil, a tree blessed by the Aspects and Elune, a fully living and grown tree, in the middle of a mist filled ocean, with roots actively growing into the ocean, that is miles off the coast, could be burned down by catapults, the Aspects ain't gonna do any better at protecting it

Like, it's so mind boggling stupid that Teldrassil burned down at all that it actively breaks suspension of disbelief in a game that has werewolves and gnome cyborgs and walking zombies.

And that's before factoring in the whole "Staffed by druids who can control the weather" aspect.

Just, the sheer act of Teldrassil catching on fire at all is the biggest piece of fantasy that WoW has ever put into the game.

You must be smoking nuclear level shrooms if you think Blizz would remove sub after introducing Battle Pass.

That is an encrypted branch, not PTR. It is where builds go before they go on PTR.
