ESO sub isn't included eith gamepass. WoWs won't be either

  3. #28843
WoW Sub being part of GamePass is an incredibly stupid buisness decision that makes no sense whatsoever.

"Oh, but they can sell more cosmetics if it's F2P!"

Uh, did you look at WoW and FFXIV recently? They can do that while having a sub fee.

How the fuck is opening up the game to vastly bigger audience a bad business decision?

For the Eclipse leak, I thought it sounds cool. Is it real? No fucking idea. Just gives me some cool ideas to imagine before the expansion is announced. It could be ANYTHING at this point and I wouldn't be shocked.

If it gets to the day of it and it's not leaked, I'll be amazed but also kinda glad to not know going in.

Got to be honest with you, maybe I am out of the loop, but I kinda missed the part that oathstones could change the color of the dragons.

Also what is Vyrannoth supposed to repressent if she is getting powers? Frost? I mean we already have magic as a whole with kelegos.

I saw in twitter a lot of people calling the owl loa a reference to “ tzeentch” from war hammer 40k - could that be? Seems like in 40k it has some old god vibes

Look, if they want to bring "WARCRAFT" back to WoW, here's how I suggest they do it, now that Metzen is in charge once again.

    • Make a new soundtrack heavily based on the ones from Warcraft 2 and 3. Heck, let an orchestra play some of it live during the closing ceremony of BlizzCon.
    • Feature lots of the core races of Warcraft, such as Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, Elves, and Trolls. Bonus: playable new High Elves and Ogres.
    • Feature gryphons, dragons, and great fleets crossing the stormy sea, defying its perils.
    • Make it badass. Lots of epic fist pumping moments, and a story that is easy to follow and enjoy.
    • While the ultimate villain might be the Void, have the ones we meet and interact with be more tangible. Perhaps Cho'gall returns to help usher in the Old Gods. Local warlords on Khaz Algar. Horde and Alliance commanders that became influenced by the fissure or the Void, turning them into villains.

He's a teenager now. And we're kinda his parent. It is our duty to embarass him at every opportunity.

I might be opening a wormhole, but don't people already have high elves via customization? It would be fifth version of playable elves.

Tzeentch's greater demons usually have a bird theme, and the chosen Primarch of Tzeentch Magnus the Red also has pretty heavy avian features. The Loa of "Change" and Tzeentch is the "Changer of Ways" and "Lord of Change" so there's a couple surface level similarities. I don't think the major Chaos powers in 40k are analogous to the Old Gods though, seems like this is just parallel thinking or a quick fun nod with the bird stuff and 'change' terminology.

Personally I want them to take the time to rework the Allied Race system, because it's a mess right now with some options being AR and some being cosmetic choices for the core races.

Have it be just "Human", for example, and let players pick a Culture or whatever you want to call it. A sort of backstory. I'm a High Elf from Quel'thalas, that's my race. But my backstory choice is Quel'dorei, Sin'dorei, Ren'dorei, etc. Depending on these choices, different cosmetic options and racial abilities open up to me.

Perhaps all High Elves share one racial ability and a few cosmetic options, but then both the abilities and the cosmetics branch off depending on what your backstory is.

Doing it this way, it'll be way easier for them to just keep adding interesting "sub races" in the future, and give them all the same attention that they all deserve.

For example all Orc clans, multiple Tauren tribes, and all kinds of Trolls.

Since Ogres would be a new race altogether, perhaps Alliance should get something more than merely High Elves. Broken Draenei could fit this, since they're a different model than regular Draenei.

You are 100% correct and you can play one, but it will never be enough for them untill they get their very own special "high elf"" tag in game.

Have the name also be an homage to this game.

World of Warcraft: Tides of Darkness
World of Warcraft: Beyond the Storm
    World of Warcraft: Shadowstorm
    World of Warcraft: Stormbreaker
    World of Warcraft: Dark Tide
    World of Warcraft: Tempest

Hey there, can someone give me a TL;DR for the last days? I know about the Stormbreaker leak, but wasn’t able to catch up since then. Anything interesting?

Guess with all the Elune stuff in 10.2 my joke about Dark Side of Elune wasn’t too far fetched, lol.

I couldn't agree more with this, it's exactly what I've been hoping for since the AR were introduced

Because you are, even if we are incredibly pessimistic in terms of subscriber numbers, losing out on over 1-2 Million $15 a month, as well as people buying microtransactions, for the potential of more people buying microtransaction.

It would make sense if WoW didn't have as big of a playerbase as it does, but it does, even if people act like it's dead.

And the earnings you make from Gamepass itself are so miniscule it's not even worth discussing.

  19. #28859
If I'd change WoW's model at all for Game Pass integration what I could see is expanding the trial version of WoW to lvl 50 or lvl 60 if the xpac takes us to lvl 80 and then make everything up to BfA available on Game Pass. That way, people could experience a lot of WoW for free.

Hmf...revenue becomes diluted, and the allocation of resources will likely adjust accordingly by the amount of ingame traffic.
