There's enough diverse biomes for like 7+ underground zones, easily. The issue is, as talented as Blizzard's art team is, can they pull it off? So far, Zaralek, isn't any indication they can. Deepholme was decent, it wasn't mind blowing wow, but it was decent. But Blizzard had a chance to prove themselves with Zaralek but instead they went with Deepholme but with some extra doodads.
I suppose there's always the possibility that they were saving themselves underground wise for next expansion, which could certainly happen.
I am all for an underground expansion, just as long as they get it right and its not all Deepholme/Zaralek throughout.
Just like I would be well up for an Undermine expansion as the primary landmass - provided its not the depressing Bilgewater(or really uses any of those assets outside of potentially a Bilgewater district in one hub. Perhaps one zone is a mishmash of various Goblin cartel districts.) aesthetic throughout.
