Probably because they are going to reveal the tree or something big at Blizzcon that connects the two expansions.

Or because everybody is busy with BlizzCon and they don't want their servers exploding in the middle of it. Same reason they don't do anything over christmas break.

In case of low subs, bring out the Illidan.
I mean he did not get his reunion with Azshara.

Illidan as a character still has plenty of legs and very little closure. We didn’t see him on screen with Malfurion or Tyrande at all. He’s yet to be reunited with Azshara. Then there’s the entire business with his destiny being THE champion of Light. AU X’era is still floating around, and I imagine she will want to claim him at some point. Add in the fact that he seems to be unofficially Azeroth’s defacto champion.

Microsoft wants big expansion of Warcraft IP, so...

- "Warcraft 4" coming
- Pace will pick up on Warcraft shows, web series, books, etc.
- Biggest announcement, however, likely will divide playerbase: "World of Warcraft" is becoming just "Warcraft"
- Metzen will announce all this at Blizzcon

Ok props for posting this on your actual account, but why would WoW be renamed just Warcraft? Then you'd have Warcraft 3-->Warcraft (WoW)-->Warcraft 4? What number would WoW be? Would 4 be an MMO or an rts? This doesn't make a lot of sense.

Well then it has to be implemented better, narratively and mechanically.

The WoD Intro was a full scale battle, so was the Legion intro, and both were done pretty well.

Make every large scale battle like that and an RTS is pointless just for the sake of showing large scale battles.

You forget that BFA had these special mission table quests that was part of the bigger War Campaign that was happening behind the player's backs.

Stuff including the Alliance retaking Southshore, Horde occupying Strahnbrad as a vantage point, The Bloodfang Pack taking control of Fenris Isle... All this stuff is also canon and actually "progressed" the world... like after the war ended, The Alliance is now cleaning up and rebuilding Southshore again from being a plague/slime-infested wasteland.

So we have had a lot of discussion on lore reasons to go to the backside of Azeroth, and what is preventing us from going there. But what would people actually prefer it to look and feel like? There is afterall no real lore besides the likely options of a fissure, Dwarves, and a potential crater of some kind filled with water where Elun'ahir was.

Personally I would love for it to be reminiscent of the old South Seas expansion concept with islands surrounding the Maelstrom. You could finally have the South Seas expansion we always should have had, and it lets us have Island exploration done right.

Because Merithra is the new Green Dragonflight Aspect, and Ysera isn’t. Why would they completely invalidate their new Aspect like that? That isn’t how to build a character. It essentially tells us that she doesn’t matter.

Ysera is likely going to play a role in the future expansion in regards to the green dragon flying to Avaloren and starting a new flight there.

Ysera is definitely tied to 11.0 as she has zero purpose so far in DF and they wouldn't rewrite her entire story over some twitter butthurt (unlike what a lot of people believe, regarding Merithra being aspect, many people think it was a hard pivot based on the reactions to datamining... while Merithra being aspect was set up in BFA)

Could be Un'goro on account of it being a crater. Could be in Scholazar on account of it being a crater, having water in the middle, and being personally overseen by Freya.

It will be wherever the writers say it is, and will just pretend like the other options were just coincidentally similar.

People are speculating it might be in Un'goro because it'd be a very fitting location.

Why would she be brought back/Malfurion sent away only for them to instantly revert it without Ysera doing anything? Twitter doesn't have the power to abort a storyline like that.
