Hard to say what's a spoiler and what's not until you have seen it though.
Was the name Algarian Stormrider a leak since it seems to reference Khaz Algar for instance?

"IF" a "leak" does happen prior to BlizzCon, I hope that it is something so "minor" that we can speculate a ton about, yet isn't enough to spoil the announcements of BlizzCon either.

Agreed. I'm not asking for the logo and the plot of the entire expansion to leak. I just want a few more breadcrumbs so we can try to come up with something that makes sense.

@Scaleface knows how to make leaks fun. If it was me, I would have just shared all the images at once with a blurb about the expansion plot. But he managed to turn it into a fun game.

Clearly "Stormrider" is a very general term for anything that can fly in a storm.

For one, were sick of elementals because there have been so many in DF, secondly, I know what the prediction said but it is looking like DF is going to resolve everything for Dragonflight: Cataclsym didn't have any other story threads. Thirdly, the prediction doesn't hold up that well because Wrath wasn't really a faction War or Old God expansion; Definitely not more than Mists. If you classify Wrath as its actual biggest themes: Undead & Dragons, the whole prediction falls apart.

That's exactly what I've been hoping for to tie the whole expansion together. Raszageth was great and it was really sad that she was dealt with so quickly. I can't really imagine it happening now that we know about his deal with Xal'atath though.

I just find elementals as generally one-note and not of greater interest. As a secondary thing? Sure, fine. But as a main threat, snore.

And I also don't find much interest in a revamped world, but opinions for ya.

Am I the only one who thinks the idea of Race Order Halls feels a bit weird? Race fantasy in WoW is just as important as class fantasy, sure, but something about separating the heroes of Azeroth into order halls by race just seems... off.

What reason would there be to even do that? Class Order Halls made sense from a lore perspective. I can't think of a single reason why Thrall would suddenly feel compelled to build a cool hangout spot with "ONLY ORCS ALLOWED" signs plastered all over the entrance.

I think it would've been totally fine at a certain point, but the ship sailed with faction identity and allied races in BfA. Guild halls are probably the most likely at this stage.

A strict 180 from dynamic flying being introduced to ground mount focus would be really interesting. Maybe the storms don't subside, and it's too dangerous to fly. Maybe the fissures/possible caves don't have enough headspace for us to fly consistently, so we need ground mounts.

If they remove the ability to use dynamic flying for a zone or a portion of time, they'd have to rework ground mounts for it to ease over I assume.

That's my head Canon for ground mounts, being able to use them in most overworld caves

There is more to expand on than just new zones though. Expand on lore is also a core part of an expansion, and there is plenty of lore available in older areas that could, and should be continued.

The actual new area is a surprisingly small part of the greater whole offered by a new expansion. And the bit you lose in having a new name is ideally regained in getting a more in-depth look at Dwarves when Dagran is old enough to become king for instance.

And of course a world revamp could expand on areas we have not necessarily seen fully anyways. Making Shadowforge city explorable for instance. Or making Gilneas a functioning capital city.

We've had multiple cases where folks don't know what Iridikron's whole deal is or why we're going to the Dream next patch. While I am a bit of a lore nut, you can't sell a new expansion on 'Look at the new lore' when, once again, the competition is adding new lands to explore and visit.

Plus, well, you gotta have something for the trailers and for the streamers to pour over for months for free advertising. It is an expectation of the audience out there that a new Warcraft expansion will have some new land to explore, and it lacking something new is going to be looked down upon as a bit of a rip off. There were people who gave Blizzard hell back when TBC released, because why not just update the Outland area we already have rather than make a whole expansion?

I gotta be completely honest, I do question if it'll focus much on the internal stuff, and especially single-faction internal stuff like that. Maybe as a side-story, but I suspect whatever the expansioon will be will more be focused around finding these not-dwarves and then dealing with whatever the big threat turns out to be. Maybe have some communication with our edwarves later ala Legion's whole questline for Suramar, but I doubt its going to be that heavy in terms of dwarf stuff

Also, they're not going to make Gilneas a functioning capital any time soon unless there's a reason to. They saw how well people treated Silvermoon and Exodar as capitals which, was expected given, y'know, Shattrath was kinda TBC's city. Even with a world revamp, there's no reason to make Gilneas a functional capital because no one is really going to use it
