Nah, listen to this:

Theres been alot of chromie, Nozdormu and time travelling in the game. Many think retail needs a revamp. Many think classic needs more. DF is coming to an end. WotLK (classic) is also coming to an end. Metzen is back.

11.0 will be a merged retail+ Wotlk classic xpac. Chromie takes the retail players back to where WotLK ended - The death of Arthas. WotLK players are there. Two timelines. This time Chromie takes our timeline back to the Classic WotLK one.

From there a new xpac will be launched that doesnt follow the old trail. No cata, no MoP.

No continuation of Classic, but a merge with retail.

Classic (vanilla) keeps on getting something something updates.

You guys think we'll ever get a halfling (hobbit like race, not halfling as in a half breed like half elves or half orcs?) race?

I feel like it's a race that gets a decent amount of love in DnD and similar fantasy works.

I'd question, where they'd fit in with the various kind of dwarves and Gnomes around. I feel like Wildhammer Dwarves already occupy lots of their traditional "space" in terms of aesthetics.

I find it difficult to imagine given we already have Gnomes, who occupy a similar niche. At least visually, if not thematically.
Similarly we have the Pandaren who occupy the same thematic niche, just not the visual one.

Looking at the Black Empire, there's a lot of stone and Old God flesh. If the Titans and keepers shaped Kalimdor into a continent after defeating the Old Gods, maybe they piled all the chopped up Old God chunks and obelisks into a big trash pile on the other side and put a storm around it to keep the smell from getting to Kalimdor.

Between Dwarves and Gnomes, I'm not sure WoW has room for it, to be honest.

That said, if they can make it work I am all for it. I would love some type of "Shire" out west in Avaloren. Especially coupled with a Bard class, hehe.

I feel like there is room between dwarves and humans. Halflings could fit that niche of human but smaller. But they'd need to make them not too childlike. The last thing we need is people going weird with it like how there the 'lala's are children' thing a part of the XIV community has (and tbh the dev's feed into it too, what with the lala lifter chair).

Yeah i mean i get the idea of adding completely "new" race, but there are few races that people are literally asking for over a decade, on year more and it will be 2 decades..

If we get some offshot of dwarves in next expansion i will be very disappointed even tho currently dwarves are my second most played race.

Some people here would sell their firstborn and/or violate the Geneva conventions for a simple, normal, nonvoid High Elf for the alliance and yet they give us vegan draconids that did not exist in lore before. It really boggles the mind.

I feel like if they can fuckin retcon main universe stuff or other very important lore stuff in wow on a whim, then they can certainly fit specific races that players are asking about for decade to a expansion that might not be even 1:1 thematically fitting for them.

It definitely seemed super fake from the get go and not even in a fun way which is why I mostly ignored it. Just the elemental dwarf thing stood out cause it was at least something new. Not sure if it got actually debunked somehow but it was giving off trying to imitate scaleface vibe to me.

They were painfully trying to emulate Scaleface right down to the exact sane posting style and use of emojis.
