If Blizzard added something like a secret rat city into the Deeprun Tram at this point, would people think it had something to do with the next expansion?

And there will be like 5 alt catch up systems. I was so impressed with their content cadence but not when every systems they introduced was for alts. Forbidden Reach/Zaralek/Dream and others were just for altoholic players. Nobody got any actual content outside of mount up killing a elite or filling up the bar and it's the laziest type of systems.

Give me more world content to do. Im tired of hammering M+ for 3 months to a point of boredom, i want more things to do inbetween my M+ runs but there' NOTHING TO DO!

That actually makes me really excited if true because that would mean we're finally, finally getting the old world revamp everyone's been asking for.

Oh wow, thats interesting. I mean do we know when the D4 leak happened? Earliest possible date? If the thread on mmo-c predates that, then world revamp 95% confirmed. If the leak came out before the 17th of October, then that leak means nothing.

If it's acronym is SoA, and we have an old Datamined string of Shadow of Azeroth that was about a change in, IIRC, Ghostlands, I think we can make a small leap to say that's that.

But, I mean, do we have any reason to believe that leak is real for diablo

Shadows of Azeroth is a pretty cool thing that can mean alot.

Titans are huge, and could refer to their Shadows as they come to the planet.
Obvious Void stuff.
Backside of Azeroth.
Maybe even the moon. What causes a shadow on a planet besides a titan? a moon.

Interesting possibilities.

The leak was posted on the Diablo forums here on October 17th. The source video for the leak was also published on October 17th. The Diablo IV information leaked here goes into significantly more detail than the video or the leaked data.

I think the data the video used is real, but I think the leak was written with ChatGPT using keywords from the video and is fake. I would take any mention of WoW in the leak with a grain of salt personally.

The real question: If "SoA" is, in fact, "Shadow(s) of Azeroth," does that indicate a "revamp with Void" happening, or perhaps we travel to a new continent where "Void stuff" is happening (i.e. either of those considerations could be similar to those "Scaleface pictures").

I would hope they learned their lesson and a revamp would be evergreen instead of constant doom like Cata.

Phil just did an interview saying that he hasn’t been invited to blizzcon but is open to attending. So don’t count on it. It was on the Xbox podcast

They just legally completed the merger. It will take over a year to actually execute. I would be very surprised if he has a major presence at a Blizzard event this year.

It's pretty impressive how good they still look compared to how bad the vanilla ones looked even compared to the TBC additions, but I agree with this because there are some I have never been satisfied with. The night elf female has a weird lopsided stance compared to the old one (maybe the old one was lopsided too but I didn't find it jarring enough to notice), human female faces have always been a bit iffy to me, and draenei female eyes are just wrong.

I've only recently noticed how pointy orc model looks now and skin tones that are very low res.



I hope they at least upres skin tones a little for races.

I'm not going to lie, an expansion based on an invading force arriving to Azeroth because they thought they legally purchased it from the goblins or brokers or ethereals or whatever would be pretty funny. We end up fighting off hordes of demonic real estate agents as the big bad based off a misunderstanding or something.

NGL, that sounds crazy enough to be a classic+ plot patch with a raid.

From how he answered the World Revamp question I would almost argue it's the most likely outcome for 11.0, purely because it immediately addresses the issue.

All, but I think its a neat idea for each city to have a big holiday event exclusive to that city. So at least 1-4 weeks a year those cities would be popping off.

Looking at other mmo and memory of wow history - you cant create equal capitals at all. People will always find optimal city and stay there. Then other people will come and we will have storm/orgr once again.

We got Thrall, the Algarian Stormrider, Khaz Algar, Storm Rider achievements, Avaloren surrounded by storms, a pet named Squally, and Toweliee talking about caves and scarabs.

How people are still bringing up the possibility of a void expansion, I have no idea.

The Void and Elementals are often tied together. Its entirely plausible.

Does anyone actually WANT an elemental themed expansion after Dragonflight? Which is just as much an elemental expansion as it as a dragon one - I would be genuinely disappointed personally

I think its likely to have some combination of a lot of themes tbh. No idea which one will be the main theme, but 11.0 very well could have Elements, Void, light, life, etc

So what's everyone's thoughts on another short time skip after the end of the expansion, whether its 10.2 or 10.3? If anything, would give the Night Elves some extra time to have built the start of their new city on or along the tree. Same goes for Lorderon and potentially Gilneas if the put the recovery of it in 10.2.5 or 10.3.5. I wouldn't think the Forsaken leaving it would quantify the need for a main patch, as the Desolate Council is working their way to leave it and giving it back to the Alliance. And would give the Forsaken time to start to build either an Undercity or Uppercity.

Soft revamps might be the way to go if a total world revamp is not their next expansion feature. Do little things here and there to update the world without paving over the previous one like Cata.
