Based on interviews by Ion, I think it was confirmed to be "coming" a while ago, but the way they talk about it makes it sound like it's still several expansions away.

The way he talked about it made it sound like it could come at any time. He talked about how difficult it was to make new expansions when all the good ideas were already taken, which was why a world revamp was a tempting idea.

Boats plus tanks plus human buildings plus NE buildings doesn't mean it's the next xpac but it 100% means they can flip the switch some day

Just nobody posted a model showcase of them before, so i couldn't use the new icebreaker for the train.

It was always images from the side.

There's a Horde wyvern building (or maybe it was a dwarven gryphon?) and orcish fort walls that don't really correspond to any existing structure being revamped(?).

I would see them saying that because they don't want to spoil anything if it gets pushed back (maybe they learned from past mistakes lol)

There's also the mounted heads. Which appear in the Horde tavern in Dalaran (Northrend, but I assume both?) and also one of the buildings towards the back of Orgrimmar.

I think the Blood Elves also got a massive bunch of stuff that didn't all show up in game.

So there is definitely work towards it going back quite a bit.

Ahh I see. Never really hung out there so all I could think of was a Scott Pilgrim joke.

I have said it before, but if Avaloren has New Stormwind and New Silvermoon I will quit the game until they bother to go back to the old ones.

It doesn't need to, it might just have an armor rack somewhere and a small two building blood elf town being built. It might be that we launch to Avaloren from a new dock structure with combined Horde and Alliance assets.

I'm just saying, this isn't the first time we've had updated assets, and it wouldn't be the first time that assets in one expansion (or Vanilla) get used elsewhere.
