It's pretty bad when you write yourself into a corner where the only viable option for gameplay reasons (sparing the Horde) is the direct opposite of what would be the most reasonable lorewise choice (disbanding the Horde)

If Blizzard don't intend for the Alliance to disband the Horde, which of course they can't for gameplay reasons, they probably shouldn't have taken the story in the direction where that was clearly the right choice

As Wrathion says in the legendary quest after the SoO:
That fool king! I did everything in my power. The whole world was his, he needed only seize it! Oh sure, another year of fighting. Enormous casualties trying to take Thunder Bluff. But the rest of the Horde would've caved, eventually.

As much as I dont want faction wars anymore I’m sure Blizz will bring them back eventually. All I hope for is that it won’t be whole xpax centred around it and just a patch, because it’s just not fun.
I think that would be a good compromise; keep faction conflict to smaller scale patch content, without ridding the game of one of its core pillars.

I hope the reason they didn't make him Aspect is because Aspects don't get to do the amount of adventures other dragons do. We've seen Chromie over the years way more than Nozdormu.

I'm not sure they'd be willing to stake their continued existence on defending Garrosh's Horde. If anything I'd have thought the Tauren of anyone on the Horde side would go, "You know what, we may have thrown our lot in with the wrong guys." and just go full neutral

That was not the Goal. He was bent in making everyone submit to Stormwind.

I'm glad they picked Ebonhorn. I liked the bond they established between Sabellian and Wrathion. Feels like an uncle and nephew, while Ebonhorn feels like he could be a grandpa. He does better as the guy at home looking out for the wellbeing of the younguns while the younger guys get into shenanigans and squabbles and adventures.

It looks like some people have got their copies of the new book early and there are some spoilers over on the official forums.

Copy-pasting below some info. Using spoiler tag just in case, since the book isn't officially out yet.

    - Vyranoth’s disturbed at how their culture is ignored when four ordered dragons just openly approach her.
    - Saristrasz, Alexstrasza’s majordomo, outright said that Vyranoth spoke well for her kind showing her that some of ordered look down on their proto-dragon kin.
    - Vyranoth outright wonders why the dragons had to change at all to be of use to the titans.
    - Alexstrasza publicly pledging her allegiance to Tyr really rubbed Vyranoth the way wrong as she felt that she sacrificed of herself to show her commitment to the Titans. This feeling grows worse when she picks on that Alexstrasza heavily disagrees with Tyr on something and that Tyr defends it with wanting to make the dragonflights thrive.
** When it comes to Alexstrasza’s point of the view the manner, it’s revealed that it was about infusing order magic into the primal eggs and that the Dragon Queen very much felt like that it wasn’t a request Tyr was making, with Malygos outright calling it a command.
    - Alexstrasza outright promised her that Order magic would be a choice and not forced… and well we saw how that turned out.
    - Iridikron was reclusive and withdrawn, with Alexstrasza having never even seen him.
    - Neltharion and Iridikron were long rivals.
    - Fyrakk is considered a hothead who wants to fight and not a true threat. However Iridikron potentially joining him is a massive concern.
    - Alexstrasza outright says that the Aspects may lose Keeper support if they don’t go with Tyr’s request. Neltharion’s reaction is to curl his lips, leaving it vague as to how he feels on the comment.

The user who made the thread also mentioned that Fyrakk is Alexstrazsa’s cousin and he was the first one to become an Incarnate.

Well yeah, that wasn't the point. The point was the Horde and Alliance hated each other and the Alliance leaders had very little reason to risk letting the Horde pull that shit again. Obviously the Pandaren was right, but why would Varian be thinking like the wise old Pandaren with no stakes in outcome of the Alliance and Horde conflict? How many real life wars do you know of where the winners just go "okay now don't do it again or next time I'll be really mad!"? It was already known that giving Germany so much shit after they lost in World War 1 was just gonna make things worse in the long run but winners like to punish losers. The Horde helped the Alliance kill their own warchief because the Horde was also mad at said Warchief. The Horde didn't step in and save the Alliance, making them indebted to them or anything. Varian risked a lot of lives, for no gain to his people, by letting them off with zero consequences. And Blizz tried to spin it as an Alliance victory moment, even claiming afterward that the Alliance is now the more powerful faction and all that. It was pointless because it was an empty threat and there was nothing in game to show the Horde as being underdogs again after their massive civil war. They would have been better off not having Varian say that at all.

The reason america didn't turn the other half of Germany into state 51 was that Independent people make better allies against the bigger threat.

Exactly. Players always expect a 1:1 ratio of positive/negative outcomes in a WAR. Good war stories aren't even or fair! I understand faction pride but for the sake of the story, learn to a devastating loss without compensation from time to time. Else we get another meaningless war where the factions just hold hands again afterwards. My hot take is it's okay for a faction to take a plain ole fat L sometimes, let the crushing blow breathe a little

The problem is you think dismantling the Horde was a thing that was actually within the Alliance's power. It was not at all a reasonable thing for him to try to attempt.

So Fyrakk has had a chip on his shoulder for even longer than the other Incarnates by the sounds of it. Really wants to prove himself and pissed no one took him seriously.

Which is why he never should have made that threat. It was an empty gesture where Blizz thought they were throwing a bone to the Alliance playerbase. Blizz told us the Alliance had the power to do such a thing in an interview or shit, but would never be willing to show it in game.

Not addressing your America idea at all, but hey look, you acknowledged a consequence! Germany got split in half after they lost. The Alliance didn't do anything except make an empty threat. Why make the threat at all if you can't or never will follow through, and everyone knows it? There were no peace negotiations or compromises either.

It was absolutely within the Alliance's power to wipe the Horde out if they wanted to. The manpower difference was laughable. The Alliance at the end of MoP outnumbered the Horde like 100:1.
