See my issue with platforming in WoW is that quite often the terrain does not match what we actually see. How often can you walk on air because there is a difference between the texture and the actual 3D object?

That can still be a jumping puzzle. I remember crossing the Greymane Wall into Gilneas. Back in Wrath. Good times!

I mean, this is something that is really missing from retail WoW. The Greymane Wall, Grim Batol, Uldum, the Forgotten Crypt. All these places that you shouldn't get to with the tantalizing smell of secrets. The world is too.....discovered.

K'aresh still seems more likely to me than Avaloren considering Avaloren has barely been canon for a year. It needs more set-up.

However, I also get the sense that Blizzard is afraid of doing another cosmic adventure expansion so soon after Shadowlands, especially after Dragonflight restored some of the faith people had lost in the franchise.

I remember "going back to Azeroth" being a big part of the marketing for Dragonflight. They might want to hold on to that and keep us in a more grounded setting for at least a few more expansions before risking it all with another leap into the unknown.

The "going back to Azeroth" part is tricky because yeah, we're in Azeroth, but in a new area we've never been before that's disconnected from the world. Essentially it's the same as going to the Shadowlands.

If we're going to chase the void, we still need a reason as to why the void is there -besides Dimensius easy linking-. I mean, why is K'aresh linked to Azeroth? The Ethereals never suggested so.

This is probably your last chance because I don't see blizzcon making it after this flop of a year. The over all loss they are going to take is going to be insane, for the record EVERY blizzcon has been a financial loss for Blizzard, but at least they still sold out.

This year will be the biggest financial loss in Blizzcon history since they can't even pull the numbers to sell out that means less merch sales and less profit over all off hype.

Even if they have the literal dream of blizzcons (sc3, WC4, Classic +, world revamp all at once) I doubt they will profit off preorders due to the lack of faith in the company.

I'd be willing to bet the next blizzcon will simply be a Microsoft tradeshow integration.

It's a shame truly, especially as a huge fan (this will be my 7th or 8th Blizzcon I've attended.) It's just a shadow of what it once was.


Every after party is cancelled, there's very little promo happening and hype is abysmally low. It's a lost cause imo.

Its still EXTREMELY cheap marketing for them. They have never had the goal of making money with the event. Its a fantastic marketing tool. Nothing more. That wont change with them losing a little more money than normal. Still very cheap by marketing standards.

I thought about doing that, but the timing is just not right. Right now it'd be just a massive waste of time, being only a week from Blizzcon.

I am decent at world building and I don't know how I'd make an entire expansion just out of Khaz Algar. It's a fissure somewhere and there are some dwarves in it. What else? Fold it into Elun'ahir? Maybe place it in an existing area and then use it as the start of an Underground expac? If it is a new zone dominated by a fissure, I'd would need at least 2-3 zones to surround it so that the concept pops properly and that makes you a new expansion "continent".
Maybe Avaloren would be a continent with multiple landmasses and the area where Khaz Algar is lies on the edge of the storms protecting it?

First impression on the pillars and arch is elven. The gold and blue is very void elfy - though it could just be a precoat. Could also be naga high elf ruins. But the way they narrow in the middle is super elven. Maybe corrupted Sunwell 3.0.

Glyphs and runes are widely used in WoW so hard to say - firelord armor, frostmourne, draconic glyphs, elven, etc.

Im getting kinda tired of elves tbh.

I know this will probably be controversial, but I just don't understand what the point of pet leveling is. It is a massive grind that simply serves as a barrier to entry.

I never thought of this. Such an easy solution to get more people into pet battles. I LOVE collecting them and the fighting system is great IMO. But you are absolutely right, remove their levels and just keep the rarity, it would be such a huge improvement.

Sadly, I do not see them doing it.

There's a Horde wyvern building (or maybe it was a dwarven gryphon?) and orcish fort walls that don't really correspond to any existing structure being revamped(?).

What I dont understand is how and why all of these unused assets keep getting datamined. It seems almost purposeful.

I imagine we'll still be dealing with a lot of familiar creatures and concepts native to Azeroth regardless, which would not be the case if we went to a completely different planet.

I don't think that BFA, SL, and DF are "three flops in a row." To each their own, though.

At worse its 2 meh and 1 flop. BFA wasnt really a flop. Not to the level of WoD.
