This has to be it guys and gals.
Also i say what i think - if that the best pics they chose for preview, they have a problems. Pics look uninspiring as hell.

To be fair these might be screenshots from the trailer and not screenshots made for promotion. I have to say though these zones looks boring as fuck.
And while I understand that this is like Human Fighter in DnD (if you need flashy places for it to work you are doing it wrong) but none of these places scream "I want to go there".
And quite frankly I kinda feel I'm actually a Diablo fan cause all the zones that work for me are gloomy as shit Halloween zones. Duskwood, Tirisfal, Silverpine, Gilneas, Drustvar, somewhat paradoxically Grizzly Hills but hey it has corrupted world tree and the wolf cult, and Revendreth.
I'm also a sucker for East Asian cultures so I had loads of fun with Pandaria.
But these? They don't do it for me.

I'm saying the gymnastics people go through because they perceive disappointment will always overtake the very real possibility of something that goes outside of their expectations.

There can be a dozen fucking reasons. Up to and including that, again, it's only a presumption they have all of the information like this hypothetical Legion leaker.

It isn't necessarily legit but yeah it does have that same exact veneer of denial spread through out. It wasn't just Dracthyr either it was MoP, WoD, Legion, BFA, SL and DF. O that's almost all of them. Actually I'm pretty sure I remember people saying the same thing for Wrath because "How could we possibly fight Arthas"

Whoever the hell leaked the Alex poster and DF logo could easily get their ass canned so, so fast even if they were some janitor at wherever the press materials were being printed, but they still chose to take a potato picture.

Unless by partial world revamp you mean "update 1 zone, like Arathi in BfA" that's just not going to happen. Because yes, it's a lot of work, not something you do on the side while creating a full other expansion of content.

Enabling Old World flying in Shadowbringers was done on the side. Hell, I'm not even sure they did it during their working hours.
For a fact, I know playable Mahjong was built during their free time. Yoshi-P did not even know about it.

It's pretty disappointing really.

Nothing stands out in those screenshots.
Even the dwarf look just like a taller Frostborn.

I feel you, but do not lose hope. It is probably real, but the trailer might show Avaloren AND a partial revamp. And honestly we know that the zones and the art would be amazing as always, even if in these pictures look particularly dissapointing.

Also, as some people are saying, the features are the most important thing.

But yes, hope that we get something else, Avaloren does not appeal me at all, they should build It a few more years and make us want to go there.

Pretty much. A few "leaks" have mentioned a single megazone revamp, like Tanaris-Un'goro-Silithus-Uldum or Barrens-Mulgore-Feralas. The leaks are fake but it's not a bad idea at all.

There's no way in hell they're doing an entire world revamp at once unless it's the entire expansion, but a single megazone is exactly equivalent in work to a single Dragonflight zone. Ostensibly we only got 4 zones in Dragonflight because a large amount of work was diverted to talents and professions (and seemingly a tiny team, which we know is now much larger).

I'm not holding my breath at all but since we're not expecting any systems overhauls, 4 zones by itself is just not enough.

I, startlingly, have the ability to look back before I make a statement. Full potato, like trashy AI art of Old God knockoffs with a work in progress X? No. Potato relative to someone standing right there that could've taken a better picture? Oh absolutely.

It didn't look flattering on the logo end of things, to the point that it was a huge factor of contention. And then we got the logo early in HD via I believe website assets before the stream reveal and just about everyone loved how it looked.

Even Alex's dragon design, looking awesome, was held up with a ton of scrutiny, even when this was after the entire expansion's name was known, just because it didn't correspond to where they thought her horns and jewelry should've been. The artist should've been obvious too, and was even named, and tons of people still denied it.

People never learn anything, even when you have proof that's actually definitive, compared to things like this which can very easily be fake, but also are not 100% discredited for the very loose reasons people give.

I do have to say. We've got 4 potential screenshots with no other details. That is... super duper bold to claim that makes it a disappointing expansion. I mean, I think this is fake. But even if it's not I'm still excited because I love new stuff.

If you really are that depressed and against WoW I just don't see why you would stick around to play. Like, pretty much any new content gets me pumped. I genuinely enjoy the game, and have since Vanilla. The only half exception I think I've ever had was Shadowlands.

I dunno, sometimes it feels like the negativity is a self fulfilling prophecy.

I...guess I'm not sure why we would want something new in the drastic sense. If I wanted something new I'd go play a different game that does stuff differently than WoW.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have swamps, or dark creepy forests, or a tropical rainforest island. But ultimately if this does turn out to be real, I'm not going to discount getting those just because they don't shop up in 4 screencaps. Look at the variety of biomes in some of the Dragonflight zones. Some are pretty different. Others are admittedly the same throughout.

But a new planet? Or trying new things? I don't think that's overly likely outside of patch content after the reception to Shadowlands.

Even with this leak, if it's real, we know pretty much nothing about anything else.

Not sure why that person deleted their post, but for reference some things I noticed:


The birds in the first screenshot are identical to "Living World" models from Dragonflight (1 2 3 4).


The butterflies in the last one are also "Living World" models from Dragonflight but reskinned to be bluer.


The sitting cat resembles but isn't the same as one of the 9.2 cat form cheetah skins with a more snow-focused skin and no ornaments.


The harpy is based on the existing harpy model but is a currently unavailable reskin with fancy lighting/edge effects.


The golem is based on the existing golem model but is a currently unavailable reskin with gold runes/rings.

So at least a few reskins of existing models going on which (even when ignoring the amount of work that would go into making a custom environment like this with proper retail fog/lighting) is a lot of work to do for a leak. Not impossible, but definitely a good amount of work.

If you can read this you might be quoting the entire post with images and stuff, please don't do that and just keep the above paragraph, thanks!
