That analogy only works if the order magic is simply colored yellow, with a visual similarity to holy, but not actually holy. But the spells titan watchers use specifically say holy in them.
So either order is in cahoots with light, or the cosmic forces have no real meaning. Might as well have the Legion casting druid spells, springing life up everywhere if that is the case. Sounds terrible imo.
There's no way she's gonna betray us... especially considering that Wowhead found the datamining that she'll get glowing eyes like the other aspects when they get their power back.
And even if Blizzard are going for that outcome, there's probably going to be a group of players that actually preferred Vyranoth to be a good guy, and seeing her be evil would feel like it'll ruin her character. (Personally, I'm whatever about it because we probably won't see Vyranoth after DF is over, regardless if she goes full treason or not.)
We had enough alliance themes. Let other races shine in the next expansion.
They're railroading. I love Odyn but in RPG writing, to not have even the expression of an obvious option is terrible. All the warriors were allied with Odyn during Legion. They wouldn't have done that if Odyn was completely unlikeable. The options of dialogue for your character to say to Vyranoth when she says it's time to pay Odyn a visit are:
-If you're certain...
-I see...
-You have no idea how long I have been waiting to punch Odyn in the face.
-I just want to get some loot, lady.
-I know Odyn personally... we should be careful.
-I know Odyn personally. I cannot WAIT to punch him.

Only if you assume that 1) holy = Light, which it doesn't and 2) that that's the only other Order magic aside from Arcane, which is just plain wrong. Damage schools are only losely related to the cosmic forces at best, and mostly completely independent of them.
We never had any real lore choices in WoW in the first place, so i'm not sure why you suddenly consider this to be a problem. WoW is a linear non-branching story. Kinda has to be, for practical reasons.
How does it work graphically though? Aquatic creatures do not face the same constant downward drift, they do not have wings, they would not whirl to surge forward, they would look so unnatural at dragonriding speeds because you just cannot move that fast with water resistance.

Doesn't need the downward drift aspect. You can just keep the momentum aspects and add in a new dive as the counterpart to ascend.
Also things move fast in the water all the time. Marlin can reach 80mph(132kmh). Nothing will look weird about moving under water as long as the animations communicate the motions and there are effects to compliment.

Almost all the physics variables, spells, animations and such that make up the dragonriding are tunable by the server on a per-mount/ability/area basis (or at any time, really). I've messed around with almost all of these and I would not be surprised if they can get it to a place where it feels natural underwater. It is a very different environment, but it could work.
