I'm almost sure it's a fake now. Went back and checked out almost all previous announce and feature trailers, none of them had the new zone/continent name even in a different color from the "new zone/continent" header, let alone have the new continent name have some glow effect. They are remarkably consistent when it comes to visual uniformity of the on screen text in the promo material

Depends on your tolerance for high quality leaks. The harpy model is the one I am most impressed by, but the zones could all be derivatives of existing zone palettes.
Tiragarde for top one, then Frostfire, Vol'dun, and finally Zuldazar.

How likely is hard to say, but it's possible. Certainly even more so when you consider everyone just being tired of blatant AI leaks.

What I dislike in the Avaloren leak is that it kinda feels like a pokemon continent. Here are different biomes for all the different badges.
And of course they go with all the vanilla ones instead of dark, ghost and fairy.

It would fit with what I expect will be the general consensus. That this is the waiting room expansion until 12.0 finally has the revamp.

Blizz literally said they are not gonna transform existing specs.

The same person claimed later claimed to see a 'support spec shaman' which, after saying 'no new specs', would point to enhance. I daresay the enhance community would swiftly return to the bus shock era if the devs pulled a survival hunter on them, particularly after Ion's comments.

Ergo I would say that particular leak is unreliable in spite of the similarities to these images.

I wouldn't mind that for classes with redundant specs. Like Rogue. But a 4th spec would probably be better even with the balancing issues.

Slight correction. The year of Legion literally everyone knew what was going to be shown on that Blizzcon as Legion was already announced a few months earlier over on Gamescom...

Replace Blizzcon with Gamescom for Legion. Either way, going into Legion reveal no one had any idea and the Legion leak we had hadn’t even come up on anyone’s radar. No one was discussing it for there to be denial surrounding it.

Not true. Also the font for the continent is the same as the one for BFA. So BFA font + SL coloring.

I would not be surprised if it was a WoD/Legion scenario. I remember them saying that they faced a bit of a fork in the road as to what order to pursue those expansions. Might be similar - with a decision early in the relative development cycle of 11.0 (pre-DF) to pivot to Avaloren and let the revamp cook a bit more. This would explain only having DF content to build up Avaloren instead of a bit more of a lead in. The expansion itself probably wouldn't suffer in quality, just the player sense of 'where did this come from?'

Difference being that we were going back to Azeroth, getting Demon Hunters, and seeing Illidan again. It was the long awaited Burning Legion invasion.

This one person who apparently is everyone doesn't even have a point. It's just the same wishy-washy "Oh, it doesn't feel right!" non-sense you get here.

Meanwhile, the Avaloren leak has a lot of red flags. The guy who posted the images clearly also posted the text leak beforehand, seeing how it has the exact same zones. However, that text post mentions reworking existing specs, which will not happen.

The ogre looking dude in the Avaloren photo is also the same creature from the mobile leak, which has a lot of issues as well, namely with the dwarf.

You're probably thinking of the Stormbreaker leak (I believe it was posted on the same day as the website leak), which was confirmed to be fake.

Stormbreaker or Stormbreak? The Stormbreak one was admitted to almost immediately, and the one I think they're referring to is Living World which Ellie almost immediately clarified was a joke based on the "leak" she made last time around.

If the Stormbreaker one was debunked I'd love to see it because the logo was sick.

No one discussed the Legion leak though. Everyone was certain next expansion was Council of Glades or Eye of Azshara. Those were the big leaks and all leaks based around them.

The actual Legion leak was a small list of features that was drowned out in the speculation thread. It wasn’t being discussed, no one paid any attention it until after Legion reveal when people were like “hang on, did anyone see this post that got literally everything right?”. Prior to this, every expansion leak had either been in depth such as Cataclysm and WoD, or a trademark like with MoP. The Legion leak read like a wish list. It was paid no credence.

We can’t use that leak season as a comparison.
