So I watched the previous few feature overview trailers that they usually release to announce the new expansion, and one thing they all have in common is that every shot of them is prominently new architecture/environment models. There's maybe one or two shots that don't really have obviously new environmental assets (Legion trailer at 1:03, BFA at 0:47)
If the shots are indeed supposed to be from the features trailer like the first image seems to suggest (it shows the AVALOREN text mid-animation), then the fact that they show mostly nature is weird.
If only the first image is supposed to be from the trailer, and the other three are supposed to be promotional screenshots, that would SOMEWHAT explain it, but the lack of new architecutre assets would still be weird - just look at the Dragonflight promo screenshots, they ALL feature new architecture assets.

I am starting to feel like Storms of Avaloren is patch 10.3. It's going to be one of the largest patches of WoW featuring a whole continent that will bring us to the release of 11.0 Q4 2024. At the time of Blizzcon, DF won't even be a year old. I don't see how we wouldn't get a .3 patch. This being a huge Blizzcon for Warcraft, we will see a 10.3 deep dive slated for a mid Spring release and also a cinematic and feature/gameplay trailer for 11.0. This situation would make me believe a massive Old World revamp is coming in 11.0.

Well, being a tale, we don't even know if the dragon existed.
But we have 4 different books talking about 4 overseas places (that could be or not the same place):
- Nightsquall book
- Avaloren book
- Khaz Algar book
- Erinethria book
We also have 2 books talking about Emerald Dream probably connecting with other places:
- Erinethria book
- Emerald Dream book
It's so crazy to think that harpies have reached out there flying or through the Dream?

What if this IS 10.3, which is why they are hyping more than usual (a new "continent" for a patch zone/addition) and then Scaleface's AI hints are 11.0? And we're being shown both. Avaloren could still be a major continent, like we've discussed at some point, but have a lot of sections outside of these 4 Zones locked, that you just can't get to until 11.0?

You’ve been pretty doomer about anything that wasn’t “your” idea tbh.
I think it would’ve been more lazy to use a location we’ve essentially been to twice before for an expansion (Kezan/Undermine) Likely they’d just reuse a bunch of existing assets, maybe with a fresh coat of paint.
Your “its bad because I think it is!” is a fallacy. Pretty sure I remember you saying the same about Demon Hunters and a “Draconic humanoid race that served the dragons” (which you added “nobody wants to play a ‘slave race’ when that’s exactly what the Dracthyr were)

Oh obviously Argus: Homeworld of the Legion, that sounds incredible.
I also don't think Argus would be similar to what I'm referring to, since it's patch content that in their gameplay theory would not be used much following it's cycle. So maybe the implication behind "New Continent: Avaloren" is that it's either far larger than we're being shown or led to believe, or it'll be evergreen and used in the future post-11.0
EDIT:
I'm speaking out of my ass. You're totally right. To Avaloren we go.
