Dwarves are one of the main themes in vanilla, one of the most loved "expansions", with ironforge and dark iron dwarves in Black Rock Depths, one of the most loved dungeons in the game. They are also featured in Ulduar, one of the most loved raids. They have been criminally underrepresented since Ulduar, while we got orcs, orcs and more orcs and then Night Elves everywhere. Human and Gnomes where underrepresented until BFA, now only the dwarves remain in need for some love.

Based on the leak, it's not immediately attention grabbing. I'd really need to know what features would be added to change my mind on it being a skip for me.

Except this isn’t anywhere close to the Dracthyr situation. If we look at the Dragonflight leak, it was pretty rock solid, with the Alexstraza art and the logo, and the domain popping up soon after. Game. Set. Match.
On the other hand, people still denied that the Dracthyr were real even after Blizzard officially announced them. So yeah, the irrational hate towards Dracthyr is nothing like what’s being leveled at these leaks in this thread.

I don't understand all of the "crazy people" freaking out over this "leak?" It's actually nuts.

Indeed. I'm not going full doomer over this potentially being real as I think I'll still get some enjoyment out of Avaloren, but that said... I would have preferred a setting that has existed in the lore for longer than a year.
Like, why can't we go to Tel'Abim? They could retcon it from being a small wacky banana island to being the Hozen homeland filled with tons of cool lore and a unique aesthetic.
Strange take considering most people seem to have disliked 4/5 of those characters contributions to DF, and the stars of the show so to speak of DF are 3 primal incarnates that didn't exist at all before this expansion.
Here you possibly have Elune, Odyn, Eonar, and presumably Iridikron + Xal'Atath. Do I think a location needs to be tied to old lore characters? No. Pandaria was great.
