In terms of the others, I'd honestly be more inclined to draw similarities to Voldun- for both #2 and #3. Even if #2 looks like it may be snow-based, I could believe that was a shader over Voldun textures.

#4 could pass as a combination of Ohn'Ahran Plains foresty-areas and Valdrakken titanic influence, I'll pay that.
The first picture looks extremely similar to Tiragarde. Especially the northern part of it.

I dont think so, many MMOs/RPGs games do it and it is a very normal thing AFAIK.

In general I totally agree with you on this, but this only works for stuff that can stand on its own feet. And some things are just not exciting enough to be their own expansions and that’s why they’re part of an ongoing expansion. I found Argus to be truly terrible, I really don’t want to imagine an entire expansion on that planet. So what I wanted to say: the whole Avaloren-Titan-story could work as a side patch for Dragonflight in the style of Isle of Thunder from MoP. Something like this for sure does not need to be its own expansion, simply because of how samy it looks and feels to stuff we’ve seen before.

Definitely looks like the Onara Statue from Ohnarian Plains reused in the second photo (left side background)

If this is real then we are close to F2P

Its the Aerie Peaks statue, but maybe that means revamp?

Not going to say real or not but it is funny that the people who are saying if it is real then x are on various points of the 5 stages of grief.

If that triggers people then oh well.

I can see them announcing F2P this expansion, based on how devs have been talking about this Blizzcon.

I can't speak for everyone else, but the complaint that it looks like the Isles to me is less literal and more a creeping fear that 11.0 will have a nigh-identical pitch to 10.0. Explore an unknown, uncharted island hidden away for millennia, which contains 4-5 zones where you befriend the natives and solve their problems (what are the odds the harpies are the centaur equivalent here?) while probably hunting for some meaningless McGuffins, probably accompanied by the same characters as 10.0 even given they said they want expansions to tie together even more. Hell, it's not even totally dissimilar to 9.0, either. It'd be 3 expansions in a row of going somewhere with just a handful of familiar characters and no one else to fix someone else's problems and then leave forever.

Obviously it's impossible to infer all that from four blurry screenshots that may not even be real, and I'm not going to bother judging it until the reveal or we get more substantial leaks. It just represents a fear for some people that we're going to get an expansion that's more similar to the previous than any other one. I think there's a strong desire for something transformative for the game right now rather than not just more of the same, but the least change possible.

I will say that I'm not very fond of the actual zone glimpses there, though. Getting too many Stormheim, Vol'dun, etc. vibes.

This is an interesting argument, cause I kinda agree with both of you. I hate when expansion-worthy places are turned into patch zones. But I also do not think Avaloren is expansion-worthy. Not at this stage anyway.

I don't think the bearded Ogre-looking creature proves anything, just that the same person is behind both leaks. That being said, both of those leaks are by far the most impressive and convincing we've seen so far, but I still don't think they're legit.

I don't mind the zones that much except for the mist-covered forest. That one looks a bit bland.

The 3rd screenshot makes me think more of an HD version of Durotar than Vol'dun. Which sounds awesome to me.

From a technical perspective for leaks that aren't just AI art, yes they are amazing. But if they are trailer shots, I'm spooked. And not in a good way.

According to some people we've been close to F2P for more than a decade. Any time now I'm sure.

Honestly this is most expansions we got since vanilla. I understand one can dislike the direction of the game, the setting, the pics (fake or not) but let's stop pretend we didin't do basically the same thing in every xpac, what really differs is the degree of unknowingness of the places we visit

Good grief, it's like the lead up to *checks notes* every other expansion in here. The game should be dead 50 times over by now if random forum commenters on possible expansions are any authority on the matter. This is real broken record stuff guys, at least wait until the reveal before kicking off the wow is dead circlejerk.

It's mixed with ground fodder assets from something else familiar, but yeah I can see this now that you've pointed it out.

A way this new continent could work for me is if we are coming as an invading force against a faction that wants to kills us all and their fortress is in the middle, so we try to besiege it with ships and all that. Another is if it's a Norse Mythology inspired expansion featuring the Titan Keepers. There's been a lot of mention of storms and that seems to fit with Odyn's theme(Stormforged Valarjar/Storm Drakes/Stormheim). There's also the possibility of Thrall being largely featured and Doomhammer=Mjolnir, but that's quite the stretch.

Seeing the lightning harpies is what's taking me right back to the more crag filled area outside the big lightning temple in Vol'dun. I think my brain is trained to only recognize Durotar as blinding orange from playing Classic, though.
