The idea is the same but the feature trailers have changed massively since WoD. They're more cinematic these days instead of just footage of in game NPCs doing their NPC thing. Hell the WoD one had footage of Tanaan we couldn't even explore at launch, with animations that don't exist in game.

If you’re pushing out a new landmass, you need a strong character to carry it. If you have a known landmass, your character doesn’t have to be as strong, but they still should be known. For example, Sylvanas, arguably the most popular character in WoW carrying the Shadowlands (along with Anduin and Tyrande). Meanwhile you had Sylvanas and an ensemble (Saurfang, Jaina, Anduin, and Azshara) carrying BFA.

In Dragonflight we had Alex, Wrathion, Kalecgos, Nozdormu, and Ebyssian carrying the expansion.

Compare that crop to the crop you mentioned, and you see the problem.
If a strong character is needed for a new expansion, who would be Undermines/underground expansion?

If this leak is real, why was there no titan or Khaz Algaran architecture shown? Why only random landscapes you can find in existing random zones? Why is the only artificial structures we see repurposed assets already in the game?

I have no reason why we would go to Avaloren. None is given in the lore. Why would we concern ourselves with Odyn's heretics or some lost green dragon brood when we have a crazed Primal dragon with a void artifact hell bent on ripping the world soul away from the titans?

Gazlowe and Thrall. If you look deep enough, the two have quite a history together. Both in terms of lore, and Blizzard developmental history.

The jungle pic has some Titan stuff.

Hate to play devil's advocate (or in this case, Teriz' advocate) but Gallywix is 100% a strong and recognizable character, alongside Gazlowe, Pozzik, and maybe some characters on the other side like Mekkatorque etc.

    - Rumble announcement/live
    - Classic+/Cata Classic Announcement
    - Patch 10.3 Announcement...
    but there's more!
    - 11.0 announcement

Making this as said by Yberra that this blizzcon will be loaded with Warcraft stuff.
Imagine of they come out abd show 10.3 plus 2024 roadmap. And announce the next expansion but say it won't be ready till 2025. So they are packing DF with a 10.3 and 10.4 to hold us. Then they show a Broll of in progress Azeroth remake and the logo 2025.

So it's a comedy expansion then?

It is worth mentioning that because of the adult version of the Briarhorn Hatchling was featured, the Briarhorn hatchling is sold from the Time Rift vendor who sells Titan related items from the Ulderoth timeline. Ulderoth being a timeline where the Titans were able to get rid of all forms of corruption and ruled Azeroth with an iron fist of Order and Life.

Soridormi did say stuff that we might learn more about this timeline.
Soridormi says: Astounding! This timeway is a Titan utopia. There is no shadow here, no corruption, just Order... and Life.
Soridormi says: In this ancient place, the Pantheon saw their experiments through. Think of what we could learn from them...
Soridormi says: But not today! Stay focused on the task at hand!
We don't know much about Avaloren, but the bottom picture with the Briarhorn could be a possible location in which Eonar and Elune created the tree before Aman'thul pulled it.

That's just my deduction on it.

At this point in time in other expacs developments. We had no lore reason to go to Pandaria, Shadowlands or to Dragon isles so?

You made up that third one didn't you.

Honestly I just don't think Goblins or Gnomes have the draw to carry an expac. If they wanted to do a underground expansion, they need to start using these characters asap to build them up to the players. I'm sure if announced today a lot of people will say Gazwho?

We sure didn't have a reason to go to Pandaria until the start of the expansion itself.

They did get more cinematic bits, that's true, but those just embelish the old system, essentially. Once the Feature Trailers get to the Features, they still do the same thing of showing NPCs doing NPC things. But that one is a fair point to bring up in terms of them changing a bit. It's just not the core formula, but the way that formula is surrounded.

(Just for reference, using BFA as the example here, since it's not too old and not the most recent thing, so fairly mid. Watched Legion as well, it's kinda interweaving the cinematic bits a bit more than BFA, but it's still mostly the feature text with NPCs doing NPC things in zones. A lot of the shots are pretty mid too, Stormheim is where they actually kind of even show a massive landmark. Very fair point still, kudos.)

Is it strange that neither wowhead or mmochamp have put these screencaps up in a speculation article yet? Adds to its credibility?

Also, i’m sure it’s been said in the thread before but these feel more like background screens for the webpage, with the exception of the first image. I can see the bottom three images being backgrounds for zone highlight infograph’s on the expax website more than seeing them in the expac highlight video.

We have a lore reason to go to Avaloren.

Since it's a titan location, Uldaz.

    Wowhead did.

And it says nothing about its credibility: Wowhead has reported on both legit leaks and fake leaks in the past

Doesn't have to be. I've said this a while back, but you could look at the Undermine as the WoW equivalent to Wall Market in Final Fantasy 7... and even view Gallywix as a goblin version to Don Corneo (big, fat, greedy sleazy man who runs the city and has a whole gang of thugs at his whim.)

It can lead to a lot of imagination.

Pretty much. And since we're still on the hunt for Iridikron, he might do the whole baddie thing of "Find me in Avaloren if you wish to confront me!"
