I mean that’s pretty much the consensus, but the Avaloren leak feels so much more like 10.3 than 11.0 that people refilled their copium for the existence of 10.3.

Considering that someone from Blizzard posted that it was not the end of the Dragonflight story yet with 10.2 could be lol

Look how much the races of Kalimdor/EK changed in 15-20K years.

Multiple Dwarves, humans, vykrul, kul Turran, various Troll and Elves.

For a place separate for so long, I'd expect bigger changes

Oh, even a 10.3.5 on top of 10.3? And 10.3 just lasting for 6 months? And then it being supposedly such a huge patch? Suuuuuuure.

Blizz reuse assets all the time and in big quantities. It's simply mandatory if the devs want to create new content in a timely manner. It's always done and has always been done (not even specific to WoW but any game with a large enough world).

The amount of people who think re-used asset = fake really goes to show they just have absolutely zero clue how game development works. Re-use of assets is very normal for a game development cycle. Do you expect 10000 new tree models and textures for them too any time there is a new continent? Whoever brings up "re-used" assets as an excuse that something is fake is not to be taken seriously.

Yeah but Dragon Isles at least had several creatures with new models including the Dracthyr, and several launch mobs are brand new. There's nothing really new in these pics.

All those caverns with the same geometry. Geology on Azeroth is weird.

truu. tho Argus was a progression of the story that non-lore-nerds could pick up. 10.2.5 would have to be chonky with lore to make the connection to Avaloren

The ogre-type creature looks like it might be using the djaradin skeleton.

Titans like symmetry and thus shaped the world accordingly

But even the Avaloren leak says "new continent".

I don't think they've ever used "continent" for any patch trailer.

You are absolutely right. I didn't even think of Argus.

So I watched the previous few feature overview trailers that they usually release to announce the new expansion, and one thing they all have in common is that every shot of them is prominently new architecture/environment models. There's maybe one or two shots that don't really have obviously new environmental assets (Legion trailer at 1:03, BFA at 0:47)

If the shots are indeed supposed to be from the features trailer like the first image seems to suggest (it shows the AVALOREN text mid-animation), then the fact that they show mostly nature is weird.

If only the first image is supposed to be from the trailer, and the other three are supposed to be promotional screenshots, that would SOMEWHAT explain it, but the lack of new architecutre assets would still be weird - just look at the Dragonflight promo screenshots, they ALL feature new architecture assets.

It's not just the existence of reused assets, it's the sole use of them. To the point where the zones look like previous ones.

I am starting to feel like Storms of Avaloren is patch 10.3. It's going to be one of the largest patches of WoW featuring a whole continent that will bring us to the release of 11.0 Q4 2024. At the time of Blizzcon, DF won't even be a year old. I don't see how we wouldn't get a .3 patch. This being a huge Blizzcon for Warcraft, we will see a 10.3 deep dive slated for a mid Spring release and also a cinematic and feature/gameplay trailer for 11.0. This situation would make me believe a massive Old World revamp is coming in 11.0.

Well, being a tale, we don't even know if the dragon existed.

But we have 4 different books talking about 4 overseas places (that could be or not the same place):
    - Nightsquall book
    - Avaloren book
    - Khaz Algar book
    - Erinethria book

We also have 2 books talking about Emerald Dream probably connecting with other places:
    - Erinethria book
    - Emerald Dream book

It's so crazy to think that harpies have reached out there flying or through the Dream?

This is the only part that's throwing me off the 10.3 theory. Seems strange to advertise a new continent in a patch reveal trailer.
