Well we also first heard of Zereth Mortis in 9.0 or 9.1 and got it in 9.2. I hope that Avaloren is 10.3 and not a full expansion.

Honestly for the info that we have of Avaloren it seems more like an island than a full continent. But they can do whatever they want with it so who knows.

TBF, that’s all part of the Shadowlands, and we knew of the Shadowlands since at least WotLK, and definitely by Legion.

Yeah, that's fair. And it looks like even Blizzard seems to have counted Forbidden Reach as a zone at launch so you're not wrong.

As far as I remember you could still fly into Forbidden Reach without issues at launch, you weren't barred from accessing it, its just that after the Dracthyr starting experience there was not much to do there until 10.5 less than 2 months later.

(I can at least confirm having memories of flying there from the regular DI, not sure if it was on live game or beta, but before 10.5. There was even elite level creatures there IIRC)

Yes and no. You could fly there, though you would take massive ticking damage that made it difficult to get anywhere near.

And that's why I think they should still simmer on that idea and not just introduce it for the purpose on next expac. Because I don't have a lot of faith that Blizz has developed something pass the purpose of an expansion from a worldbuilding perspective that they only name dropped a year ago

Bottom of Azeroth/other side of Pandaria came up a fair bit back in the day due to the whole climate thing, not as much as backside of Azeroth though. But Southerend was a joke for a bit due to that

Something elongated like Northrend again would be very welcome, especially if they are going to the other side of azeroth... round island continents are kinda boring/old. Pandaria, Outland, Kul Tiras, Zandalar, Broken Isles, Dragon Isles. I get that its convenient to traverse, its just BORING
