I don't think it's reasonable to compare changed ideas over the game's lifetime to the situation in question. 11.0 has been in development for like a year at this point, this would be immediately 180'ing on a position, or even saying that they weren't going to change specs while actively working on changing specs in the background.

Okay, so now that WoWhead has reported on the "new continent" leak, I'm ready to say it was fake. WoWhead wouldn't spotlight a real leak.

Except they did when they discovered that list of datamined achievements, with one of them saying "Algarian Stormrider - Heroic Edition"

I saw someone say the zones match those zone descriptions exactly but the first screenshot looks like a forest, not rocky peaks. The other ones can be made to match if the stormy zone ends up also being snowy, but there's no actual snow showing in the screenshot so from what we've seen, the zones don't actually match the pictures. Entirely possible if it's all real that other areas of the zones match the descriptions given in that post but the pictures we've seen don't. And they are incredibly safe guesses to make, because Dragonflight and BFA also both had snowy mountains, deserts, and rocky peaks, and jungle/forest areas. The supposed plateau from the website leak description also doesn't seem very elevated, and instead seems to be between elevated buttes. I dunno, it just doesn't feel cohesive to me. Maybe one of the three is real rather than all three being real.

I mean it all depends on if we view the three leaks as one complete three parter and not three leaks that have a nice overlap.
There are a lot of possible combinations of validity possible besides none of them and all three.

Oh yeah, I absolutely agree with you. I've been ready to believe this is a legit leak - the leak - for some time today, but the more I read, especially the @Hitei analysis, @Fahrad Wagner passion for revamp and especially @Teriz disappointment, I can't help myself but acknowledge it just can't be real

But imagine all people from Blizzard reading this thread and traversing through the despair, denial and utter dissapointment in a situation the leak was legit. Damn, that would be a bitter pill to swallow

Yeah, it's not perfect. The more interesting detail about that leak, to me, is that they went out of their way to specify that the stone dwarves have real hair as opposed to hair made out of stone—which we can see is indeed the case based on the screenshot.

Seems like an odd detail to share.

Or they made both leaks and wanted to head off people claiming something like "why would a stone dwarf have real hair? OP was just too lazy to make rock hair!" =P

I think you can pretty safely associate the website leak with the screenshot leak because of the Ogre/Dwarf in the background. So with those two either they're both real or neither of them are. Even though they may not be from the same person.

The other text only one tho is so vague with it's descriptions and actively goes against thing's we know for a fact aren't happening like specs being reworked into support that it should be viewed as it's own entirely separate thing that probably just happened to get lucky by using vague descriptions of things.

Okay, but again you seriously believe that Blizzard has NO concept art from 11.0 that can be used instead of concept art from the previous expansion? They have a huge art team that works on new expansions years in advance.

A kid in their basement putting out a fake leak wouldn’t have that concept art, but Blizzard would.

I would legitimately love to see that too. You could do so much with it and also be a cool way to bring the Djinn back into the picture but I also think a cool Old West Cowboy vibe zone would be awesome too.

In our defense, High Elves on the Horde and retconning Eredar to be Draenei and also friendly remains still pretty dumb to this day. Not that I haven't enjoyed Draenei storylines since then.

That should have set a precedent that nothing is sacred and neither established lore nor logic will stop Blizz from making whatever they think will be cool/fun.

I want a revamp more than anything else I just don't like to view new content through the lens of my expectation versus judging it as it's own thing. Personally if they do the big ass Gadgetzan from HS in a revamp I would probably set my hearth there and never change it no matter how inconvenient it gets.

I mean Night Elf Mages and Lightforged Warlocks are a dead giveaway that lore is more what you would call guidelines than actual rules.
