Uldaz isn't guaranteed to be in Avaloren afaik.

And if it was, the logs would likely refer to sending expeditions to Uldaz and not Avaloren.

Well, if Uldaz is on Avaloren, aren't they kind of one and the same for disclosing destinations? Except the expeditions didn't fail to reach Uldaz specifically, they already failed at what would be the first step, then, getting to Avaloren in the first place. So it'd make sense that they'd just say they failed to reach the Continent. VERY nitpicky, but if they wanted to disclose accurate information, they never had a chance to reach Uldaz or embark to reach it, if they never even made landfall on what would be the first step of the expedition.

It's not hard to re-introduce old characters in a new light... Remember, Khadgar and even Nathanos used to look extremely different before they complete make-overs in WoD and Legion.

Even if someone goes "Who the fuck is Noggenfogger?" Blizz can just as easily re-introduce the character with a new model and everything if they wanted to.

Heck, they gave us completely new characters in DF with Toddy and Naleidea.

Oh god I hope they never do another Toddy, worst character in the damn game. Naleidea is pretty cool tho

Most expansion media packages have some screens with new architecture and some pretty plain ones. Given that we've only got four, it's a fair chance we've simply not got the goodies yet.

Yeah he's also apparently some legendary minion in Hearthstone. But yeah, I had no idea who Pozzik was. You'd be better off referring to Revilgaz, Noggenfogger, or Mida for more well known goblins.

I'm pretty sure Noggenfogger is more well-known to the masses than .. 99% of the Goblin & Gnome roster.

That's also the shortest and weakest one they've done in a long time too, but the whole announcement was completely different from anything we had before due to covid issues. Still, they made it flashy.

Nah, MoP was the very definition of a break expansion, just like Dragonflight. The problem with applying that logic to 11.0 is that 11.0 is highly likely to be a continuation of Dragonflight's story, and as of right now there's very little driving us to go to Avaloren. I could see it as a patch, but not a full blown expansion. Odyn is simply not that important of character.

I just don't think it's real.

It's such an odd thematic choice that doesn't really jive with how Blizzard traditionally operates. But that is possibly because it's just 4 screen shots that are not indicative of anything at all.

S'long as the game is good, dungeons are fun, raids are fun, and the music is fire, it's all gravy regardless of setting.

Yeah, that's a point I can understand, but also wasn't exactly what I was argueing against. It was an example of where the Quality of a couple of shots clearly didn't matter, despite the ongoing improvement of the quality of the formula, right? They were already 'past' the years of developing the game where something like this would've probably been more likely to happen or get the greenlight. So it was more to again argue the point that I honestly don't expect it to be harmful outside of a minority of viewpoints towards Blizzard, IF there were an unprecedented amount of reusing going on with the real deal, so long as the final product looks what it's supposed and expected to look like, it probably wouldn't negatively impact the overall reception. There can't be an inherent hard rule to certain degrees, because eventually things will adapt to the requirements to get the product to where they want it to be. And given all the things we have discussed over the course of the Thread, that do seem possible, I wouldn't be surprised if they do a lot more reusing, cut Art Team production load further, to meet a goal we haven't quite seen disclosed yet, perhaps. And it can still be a spectable overview/preview with that sort of thing going on, so long as the combination of assets works.

Not saying I disagree, however, it's very hard not to have a "bias" toward that image considering Legion has come and gone at this point. My major point is the fact that I doubt any of us (myself included) can look at any of these 4 images (if real) and say whether or not 11.0 is going to be awful/amazing. It's just nonsense.

Some folks doing the headcanon, some folks insisting the story can go only one way and this doesn't match up so its clearly wrong, but I do think a healthy dose of skepticism is welcome. Warcraft doesn't get the big fakes typically but I've seen crazy stuff in other places. Smash Bros fans remember the Grinch Leak well, someone rigged up a custom model once to use as a fake Pokemon for another fake leak over in that space (and that's before I get to the people who still complain about Inciniroar not being that boring fanart or people complaining about Primarina not being Ballio the horrifying seal clown).

There are a few things weird and off with it. The fact basically every part of it is a reuse except some rocks, for example. Its more what you'd expect from patch content than a whole new expansion and worth skepticism.

Teriz, I also don't believe in this leak, but there is no indication that any of these images are Khaz Algar. You're correct that all we're seeing is landscape which is a factor in the favor of this being a fake, but saying that "one of those 4 shots supposedly showcased Khaz Algar" is just untruthful and redundant to discussion over them.

Weren't you saying that Khaz Algar will likely NOT be on Avaloren? Also, who cares what a separate "leak" said about Khaz Algar? We're talking only about the 4 images (everything else is null).
