So, since we are still technically speculating, how would you folks feel about, as part of a world revamp, all the raids accessible in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor being updated using timewalking type stuff, or even rebuilt and balanced, but they would act as the raids for the expansion. No stories being concluded in raid, no raids tying into the story, just things there to be done for the raiders, but all the story focus and stuff goes to dungeons and open world.

This is a terrible reason to assume they are fake. Aerie Peak bird being used in 2 places doesn't mean fake. Especially if they updated it and can also use it for the world revamp. There being 100% confirmed custom rocks makes me lean back towards real.

It probably was developed for the Void Elf unlock/intro quest and then abandoned.

Reminds me of the datamined dialogue line for Battle of Lordaeron about the Void Elves that people were speculating about and then it was never used.

Keyboardturn posted about it on Twitter back in June, but I don't know how old the update was (if it was something older that was accidentally added to the live game recently despite being scrapped years ago, or if it is a totally new update).

You give the reasons yourself. Let's imagine this "crazed Primal dragon with a void artifact" went through a portal and got to Avaloren for a purpose. Wouldn't it be insane if we followed him in order to stop him "ripping the world soul away from the titans"? We don't know the details for sure, but...

And what purpose is that? All we know of Avaloren is that its a place where a bunch of people gave the titan keepers the finger. It's not like the Tomb of Sargeras where we knew there was portal that can bring on the Burning Legion long before Legion. Blizzard tends to make locations important or interesting BEFORE the expansion is announced.

Legion => BfA : we learned about Azerite as we learned about BfA.
BfA => SL : we learned about Sylvanas going specifically to the SL when we learned about the expansion too.

Except in BFA the main hook was the faction war, us finally seeing Kul'tiras, and Azshara/N'Zoth. Azerite was just a device to push the faction war. There were tensions simmering between the Horde and the Alliance during Legion.

We also suspected that Sylvanas was working with death during BFA. There were also multiple death hints throughout the expansion.

There are clues about Iridikron right now and those are no different than what we had in the past. What we actually know for sure is that Blizz said DF and future expansions would be tied into a big narrative arc rather than 1 expansion = 1 story. Common sense tells me Iridikron will be featured in 11.0 and we'll learn how/why at Blizzcon and/or in 10.2 ending.

Here's the problem; Sylvanas was such a huge character at the time and we had spent so many years with her that she could get away with being the only hook for an upcoming expansion that we knew nothing about. Iridikron simply doesn't have that level of clout to pull that off. People actually cared about what Sylvanas had planned (until it got revealed and it turned out to be stupid). No one is going to care about what Iridikron has planned if he's still scheming in 11.0 and the zones we're questing in look like DF zones.

It's also the reason the main characters for 11.0 will most likely be the Aspects still, Iridikron still, Tyr still and you add Thrall + Azshara + Xal + whatever we'll learn about.

That's Dragon Isles all over again. We're literally doing that right now minus Thrall, Azshara, and Xal, and we had a little void in Aberrus.

If I had to guess, I would say Iridikron wrecks stuff BEFORE 11.0. Sort of like Thanos and the snap at the end of Infinity War, and in 11.0 we're picking up the pieces and fixing the disaster like Endgame. That really makes the most sense.

I for one probably won't even be watching now. This really fucking blows if it's legit and Blizz deserves all the shit its getting for every minute it doesn't debunk it.

Obviously i would prefer a killer setting but a bland setting won't kill an expansion. Its gameplay and features will.

Their second tweet is more interesting. They bring up a good point on glued assets, it's a common practice in those servers that shall not be named.

I still find it funny that last I checked there is still an invisible little block floating above the fountain that is in front of the building Lor'themar and the transport orb are in. You can't jump right there because it's right above your head, and you can jump up onto it and stand on it.

Is it still there? Eversong Woods and Ghostlands were FULL of really weirdly placed invisible walls that seemed to exist just to stop you from jumping (including several just in the middle of a road with nothing around, so it's not like they were there to stop us from accessing places we shouldn't). There was mention of these being removed sometime in Shadowlands but I can't say I've stepped foot in Quel'Thalas on retail at all in the last decade.

But that's the problem, it isn't updated. It's just the old Cata Aerie Peak. It works in a shot like that, but ingame, when you can actually walk up to it, it'd look completely out of place.

Nah the pics are gorgeous. I don't care about asset reuse. I just wanted a more wild then than yet another island 4.0. Still if the features are good no one will care about this conversation in a year.

Yeah, the zones don't immediately excite me the same way WoD or Shadowlands did, but as we all know features and contents carry expacs.

Classic Raids? Absolutely not. Too much work to overhaul all of them, and all the good ones were updated to later expansions like Naxx, Zul'Gurub, Onyxia. All that's left is Molten Core, Blackwing's Lair, Ruins of Ahn'qiraj (which is more of a mega-dungeon because it has a completely different lock out time than normal raids), and the Temple of Ahn'qiraj. (I also want to include Karazhan here as well, as while it is liked by many people, it isn't something I'd want to replay.)

Cata raids? I guess I can see that working since Firelands is a Timewalking Raid... though Bastion of Twilight and Dragon Soul would need to go through some work. Baradin Hold is a no-go...

Overall.... I like the idea, but only with Cata stuff... Classic raids are too much work with little payoff.
