So this individual makes their own fake leaks and then goes to dissects others? Even more reason not to trust someone lol. I will never understand why people follow the stupid. I guess stupid attracts stupid.

This is a thread full of people who are very enthusiastic about the game and the lore. We like leaks, fake or not. The fun is figuring it all out.

I've got trouble seeing it I guess. Though, I was actually playing WoW for a bit for the first time this week, and I did notice, are those shadows in all this artwork just unusually light? Like, all the in-game shadows are just way stronger.

Have you gone exploring the Azshara zone? Nazjatar? There's some really neat ways to get past the walls, and if you explore around you can run into several background N'zoth fish, some Naga caves that make the Eternal Palace look way bigger, etc.

not yet, but going to try here to try to get some results, the cushion toys helps a lot on the invisible barriers lol

It's crazy to me how certain many people are that these four still images and the end all be all. It doesn't confirm there's only 4 zones at all, just that only four images got leaked, maybe that's all the info they got secondhand?

It certainly doesn't mean the zones are boring or bland. If the zones are even close to DF size, they might not even show a quarter of what they will look like! Who knows how many sub-biomes are in each zone.

It's very possible that the leaker doesn't even have full access to the full preview video so he couldn't have chose better shots or stills if he wanted to. We have no idea how these came to be.

For the sake of optimism I'm still going to believe their real though. From the fraction of zones we see, they look like they could be a lot of fun to explore and that's without knowing an OUNCE of plot or story yet

Oh, I was being sarcastic. Could even be 4 screenshots from the same zone, for all we know.
I'm not completely dismissing them as fakes, because we all have learned from the Dracthyr disappointment, but I am leaning towards the "I think it's fake"-camp.

And holy sh@#$, some people are responding extremely emotional to those screenshots. Keep your calm everyone, Blizzcon is only a few days away.

What makes it stupid? The whole reason she started doing fake leaks in the first place was to prove how easy they are to fake and try and get people to be a bit more skeptical and/or discerning about leaks

God, please no Quel'thelas, I can't stand elves and quite sick of them. They been getting way too much attention the last 3 expansions and it's annoying.

Also, after they butchered Sylvanas the Elves got less and less interesting.

But yeah, I logged back in to double check. I know it's not the exact same place, and whatever, but I also went and checked flying around with dragonriding. Even my shadows way up in the air are stronger than those images, even at night time.

I guess it's more than possible that if it's a video and such, they used different lighting settings. I've been up since 4am yesterday morning at this point, so I'm amost certainly imagining things.

Well, if we're really pulling hairs and getting down to technicalities. It's mainly been the Night Elves who've been getting their lore butchered time and time again for the past 4 expansions
Blood Elves... not so much (or at least not to the same extent as Night Elves). If anything the Blood Elves have sort of been thriving lately and the inclusion of the Nightborne gives him a race that they can share similar interests with. Lor'themar and Thalyssra's wedding just adds to this and it makes the union between both sides somewhat wholesome.
(The only time that Blood Elves had their lore bashed was the whole debacle about them having High Elves rejoining their society again due to that one recent lore interview.)

So I don't really mind more exploration into Quel'thalas if it means having it be connected to the Eastern Kingdoms server (and also to get flying in Eversong and Ghostlands)

No offense but are we seriously trying to figure out whats happening with the shadows in a completely different environment and radically different angles? I am not sure what you are trying to achieve here. That the shadows in the leak are fake? It's taken from a video thats in motion and is at lower res, you won't be able to tell what's truly going on with the shadows.

It also depends on what quality the game was running on when they captured the footage. Their shadow setting might be different than yours. Also, don't forget that RTX shadows exist in WoW in the options menu that can be toggled on/off. That's another factor too.

I mean, if these are supposed to be promotional images from a video, building up to the setup of blizzcon and the like, I'd assume their settings are on Ultra High and everything maxed.

It's a promotional video. "New Continent" type deal. NPC's staged to look a certain way. "The settings were lower when they captured the footage" isn't really an option for the type of trailer this would be.
