I volunteer to outline their new zone stories for them. I'm definitely qualified because I wrote a novel in 2019 that I haven't even attempted to publish but my friends and family tell me it was really good so I'm basically a best selling author at this point. Disregard anything you didn't like or thought was dumb in my concept descriptions from last night because they were totally just jokes and I have much better real ideas for real.

I know the feeling, I've made like, half or two-thirds of worldbuilding for my own conceptual novel at slow days of work so I'm definitely qualified. I'll finish it any day now.

I'm just saying that symmetrical layouts are generally uninteresting, feel unnatural and are hard to work with. As I said, if such a shape can be justified ingame with lore or whatever, then fine.

The only place a symmetrical layout for zone made sense was the Wandering Isle cause it's a giant sea turtle. Which is pretty much the coolest zone concept in the game. Let's be honest.

Imagine if some kind of corruption would take root inside him and we had to do a zone or even raid inside. There is your underground cavern, folks.

IIRC what they have said officially was that sailors would go missing when they travelled to the Veiled and Forbidding Seas. So it has been implied.

Wow, really? That's cool. Hope you eventually publish it and I can read it.
My first novel came out this May. But it is only available in Hungarian at the moment. Although since it is an urban fantasy novel it wouldn't work in WoW.

Okay but you’re saying that Evokers got 5 zones in DF and everyone else got 4. That still means DF had 5 zones at launch. Just because everyone can’t access something doesn’t mean that it’s nonexistent.

Seems like everyone has accepted that the four screenshots are likely fake, which is nice. Though I wonder if the leaker will make something even more believable in the remaining time.

The difference is that expansion continents are named in lore long before they become expansion content. Dragon Isles for example was mentioned during BFA and didn’t appear until after Shadowlands.

Unless Blizzard has completely changed how they do expansion content, I don’t expect either Avaloren or Khaz Algar to be the new WoW continent in 11.0.

The sheer formulaic design of the zones really drives home the dullness of WoWs recent expansions.

TBF, that’s all part of the Shadowlands, and we knew of the Shadowlands since at least WotLK, and definitely by Legion.

As far as I remember you could still fly into Forbidden Reach without issues at launch, you weren't barred from accessing it, its just that after the Dracthyr starting experience there was not much to do there until 10.5 less than 2 months later.

(I can at least confirm having memories of flying there from the regular DI, not sure if it was on live game or beta, but before 10.5. There was even elite level creatures there IIRC)
