I think it is largely due to DF doing things completely different from any other expansion.

    Think about it like this.
The Forbidden Reach could've been 10.1 but instead became 10.0.5
Zaralek Caverns could've ended up as 10.2 but was 10.1
Dawn of the Infinites would've been 10.2.5. but was 10.1.5
and Guardians of the Dream could've been 10.3 but instead became 10.2

It's not so much the lack of content, but that the numbering is throwing people off.

One week left, my vote is on 6 updates again next year.

    January - 10.0.5/10.2.5
    March - 10.0.7/10.2.7
    May - 10.1./10.3
    July - 10.1.5/10.3.5
    Sept - 10.1.7/Prepatch
    Nov - 10.2/11.0

The schedule works perfectly for 2 year cycles, it’s a stable release at the same time of the year each cycle, November, while a 2.7 end means 1.5 year cycles, i.e. August/February alternating.

Or, 2023’s patch cadence has been a lie, and none of this means anything.

I don't think we getting a basic 4 zone expac guys
    - Intro/Welcome
    - WoW
    - WoW Classic
    - OW2
    - Hearthstone
    - Warcraft Rumble
    - D4: S3
    - D4 expansion
    - New survival game
    - Maybe some minor announcement for DI
    - Maybe some minor announcements for SC2 and HotS

If you give 15 minutes for each point, you only have like 5min left.

Worst expansion for me, and that's by the only metric that matters. How much have I enjoyed playing it.

Haha, I actually do not like beer to be honest. I am down for meeting up and networking but that depends on the schedule and what's happening. Although I am sure there is a media lounge upstairs from what the PR told me where everyone including the devs hang out. So we can prolly say hello there.

Look man truth be told, I can see how some people may believe there is a .3 patch due to all the lore hints and stuff about new places but the reality is that it is not, and here is the big evidence why - https://www.wowhead.com/news/new-inf...tys-end-325505

This is the shadowlands version of the item "The latest PTR build has added reputation rewards to the new reputation coming in Eternity's End, The Enlightened. One of the rewards for this faction, following the trend of adding one of these every final tier of an expansion, is the infinitely usable Augment Rune for Shadowlands, the Eternal Augment Rune! This item requires Exalted with The Enlightened and will cost 40,000"

In the past, it was normally reserved for the final tier for an expansion, and there is the Dragonflight version of it as well in the 10.2 patch.

And here is the Dragonflight version of it in 10.2 on the PTR - https://www.wowhead.com/news/permane...0-2-ptr-335456

    "Dragonflight Permanent Augment Rune

Dragonflight's permanent Augment Rune has been added on the Patch 10.2 PTR! Typically the permanent augment rune is only added in the final patch of the expansion likely signifying that 10.2 is the final Patch of Dragonflight! While Shadowlands had Season 4, it was with old content rather than new content."

I get that SL and WoD weren't the greatest expansions ever but whether they were good or bad I do not think they have anything to do with it. Season 4 in SL was quite fun and I am thinking they will do the same thing for DF. The fated season was well received if I am not mistaken.

If this is not the evidence that 10.2 is the final raid tier and the final big major patch for DF then I do not know what is. We will most likely see Season 4 in 10.2.7 imo with access to all the 3 raids/fated and a cool new mix of Mythic+ to top the expansion off as we wait for the next big thing in the Fall or Late summer of 2024.

Question is: What questions are they afraid of? No 10.3 seems like a good one to answer, and DF being a potentially failed expansion can also easily be deflected by mentioning it was always planned as a shorter expansion in order to either get the next expansion back on track, or because they needed more time to put into said expansion being as good as it could be. Housing or World Revamp being a good reason.
qna sessions have always been a massive waste of time with people asking the dumbest waste of time questions

All they did was shift all non-seasonal content updates into minor patches, and people prefer it for the most part. Major patches always feature a new raid, or at least the opening of a new raid so it doesn't make sense for Dawn or Reach to get their own major patches.

Absolutely anecdotal evidence, but I've got a lot of friends who simply didn't buy it due to the dumpsterfire that was Shadowlands, as well as all the allegations absolutely shattering their trust. Not to mention a decent chunk also just finding new games to play (Especially FFXIV) and having no real interest in coming back to WoW at the time of DF release.

So an hour for classic and giving it the "Whats next?" Subtitle seems odd right? Like we know Cata Classic is gonna happen and we also know 1.15 is probably SoM2 but that still feels like something you can cover without a full hour and a Whats Next panel. It would be wild if Classic+ is a real thing and personally I'd fucking love to see it.

This multiple friends switched to FF due to SL and the Allegations. A few are warmed by DF but are waiting to see if Blizzard sticks with it.

Honestly, DF's minor updates worth more than all the updates from SL and WoD.

    Twitter integration and Korthia lol

There looking like there will only be 3 raids with a total of 27 bosses is a pretty big bummer, coming from someone who primarily plays this game to raid.

I'm holding out cope we at least get a miniraid with like 3-4 bosses but shrug. I would be a little disappointed if the SL model of 3 major raids becomes the default

There's a lot of reasons for DF not doing well and not all of it is because of the actual content of the game. People confused about DF not selling well when it is receiving good reception by the players don't understand how many things go into someone buying a game.

The writing was on the wall at the release of the expansion: DF is not interesting enough or big enough to warrant new casual and/or old haters coming to play, regardless of the quality. And it looks like 11.0 will be the same if Avaloren is it, meaning we may be shifting to F2P instead of Blizzard making a giant expansion to win people back.

Also important to remember that a lot of people have lost their freaking minds and sense of common decency.

I wouldn't run a live Q&A in the age of wannabe influencers and TikTok trends. Some narcissist is going to see the opportunity for a massive spotlight and cause a scene, because they think they can use it for their "brand".

    I really doubt a F2P announcement.

If nothing else, I think if they were going F2P they would have went super all out on the 12 month subscription package that just started. Really impressive brand new rig mount, a really detailed cosmetic set, a cool back transmog item, etc. Because then a lot of subs are incentivized to keep paying for the last year of the sub before the switch to F2P, rather than a lot of people unsubbing and just waiting.

Also, at this point we should probably be <12 months from 11.0 release and it'd be weird for them to be running a 12 month sub special if they're planning on stopping the sub potentially before that runs out.

Oh yeah for sure. I legitimately think Cons in general are about to go extinct. People are just doing whatever the hell they want now for the clout and it's only a matter of time till someone manages to kill an artist at a concert or a dev or just anyone by throwing some shit at them and then all the live announcement events will just die.
