I will say I don't think Metzen's the very top. At best he's parallel with Longdale in her role as Executive Producer for all things Warcraft.

Yep. Just because there is a two and half hour slot doesn't mean the opening ceremony is two and half hours long.

I think this is likely smart.

People are super negative over anything right now, even when it's not deserved, they want to avoid a Red Shirt Guy 3.0...

There has not been any content besides two or three almost unrelated short stories outside of the game since Dragonflight's launch. The book for Dragonflight isn't even out yet, comes out next week just ahead of Blizzcon and it seems to just be explaining with more depth what we already learned ingame; Alex was an asshole who usurped her kins will and it caused a bunch of dragons to fight a war they ultimately lost.

Edit: Or did you literally mean the WoD/Draenor Primals?

Fuck it, I'm going full copium.

2nd pic is the Hinterlands/Khaz Modan revamp, no clue who that dwarf is.

3rd pic in the leak is Durotar, the humanoid in the back is a Mok'nathal playable race.

    4th pic is Un'goro Crater.

I'm going full copium, full denialist. We're getting a revamp.

And the revamp increases EK and Kalimdor to three times their original size.

    Zero build up? Nah.
I mean BUILD UP. Like how wod built up legion or the Sylvania arc in legion and bfa build up shadowlands.

Not some bread crumbs spread out in obscure places.

And proper High Elves for the Alliance, for no particular reason, while we're at it!

NO NO NO! You do not understand. Those bread crumbs aren't the same as the Dragon Isles or Avaloren Bread Crumbs. They are different older Bread Crumbs so its ok.

And yes. They count as build up. Yeasty Build Up.

Remember, in the opening ceremony they could very well talk about Blizzard now being part of Microsoft, what’s going to change and what’s going to happen in 2024 with Blizzard games. I’d even say it’s very likely that they’ll talk about this stuff during Blizzcon because it’s now simply their business structure. They could easily talk half an hour about the new opportunities from this deal and what it means for future development and releases.

Yes it is. The WoW Game Director & President of Blizzard were literally professional WoW raiders.
Ion was with Elitist Jerks, which means he was a "professional WoW Raider" during a time where that term didn't even so much as exist. He and his guild fell off a cliff way before anything got remotely professional. He's just done Raiding for a long time and likes it, which happened to align very well with his eventual positions at Blizzard. And this is the first time I've heard of Qwik being a professional at anything in game (no flame). He's really into M+ pushing, but not part of a "Professional" Team, he just does the Title Push, which is a completely different format from professional MDI/M+ or Raid stuff. No clue where he is atm guild wise, since Qwik is no longer a character in Denial of Service, but his last Raiding Guild by that nature, wasn't insanely close to Famed Slayer at any point either, at least as recently as Shadowlands + Dragonflight so far.

Neither of these two has even done anything that would come close to professionally playing the Game. Hitting Seasonal Cutoffs isn't professional, it's just a gradual time investment, but I'm sure it looks professional to some.

I am willing to bet money you won't hear a peep about it outside of maybe an opening remark until next Blizzcon.

Sylvanas never had propper build up in BfA though, her arc was just raped by Afrasiabi lol. Legion Sylvanas was cool, but they literally had to write a book trying to stitching together her story lines just to make some kind of sense ....

Same, last jedi definitely made some dumb choices sometimes, but giving luke agency, after he watched obi wan do the same. It set up such a high stakes situation and then the last movie just reset everything. I re-watch spider verse way more than I should and just the art and offbeat story is refreshing.

People hate stagnant content. People also hate new things.
    Moral: People are fucking dumb.

And thats on you because in most circles and polls about the health of Warcraft and the highlights of peoples times the two most mentioned expansions in terms of quality are Pandaria and Lich King. The narrative in this thread is that Pandaria had such low sales at launch (The lowest at that point) but the narrative never points out that 5.4 is the second time in the games entire history that the game gained MILLIONS of players during a content Drought. (I believe it was Q1 2014).
MoP is the worst selling expac ever, other than TBC (but during the first two years the playerbase was still growing rapidly.) That's an undisputed fact. Sub numbers also shrank a lot post Cata, a resurgence of sub numbers very late in the expansion cycle doesn't change any of those facts, nor does ten year retrospectives of expac appreciation. The bean counters don't see that reflected in moneys

Wow, turn your back a day or so and the thread blows up. I did my best to catch up, but let's see if I missed anything.

I caught the doomsayers come back to tell us how WoW is dying.
People screaming into the Teriz void.
A new "leak" of four images that follow the previous "mobile leak"
A leaker trying to ride the coattails of said leak with their leak, which sounds terrible, imo.
    The Blizzcon schedule.
Me finally taking the time to get the Vengeful Chicken from Waycrest Manor

That covers everything? Was there anything I missed?

Sylvanas got completely butchered. Very unfortunate, as she is used to be a fans favorite and a classical WC3 character similar to Arthas. Arthas and Sylvanas are probably the most beloved characters and Illidan of course. I'd say those are the top 3 with Arthas being #1. Very unfortunate what they did too her and Steve Denasur is constantly high of his own farts. I hope Chris fixes this fucking mess.
