Tbf i predict WoW doing pretty good on their first quarter report, but who knows they did need something like this though

I would weep from the horror and frustration, and I would claw out my eyes. You’re not wrong she’s the Go’el or Illidan of this expansion, but I think the disappointment is thankfully going to be limited to Ebyssian and not sink to such depths.

I honestly would find Emberthal less disappointing than Ebyssian. The unwilling leader idea works when they are still a great leader. Ebyssian is not a leader. He is an advisor. His entire life he has been an advisor and it has been a very long life. And he is already advising someone this expac; Emberthal.

Making Ebyssian leader is just another step in the axis of blandness. Only the most non-confrontational people are allowed to succeed in WoW. Any character, any ambition is to be vilified. Emberthal though has motivation. She wants to find her place and protect her people and she is willing to fight for them.

Yeah Emberthal is a much interesting character than Ebyssian. She won’t be the next black aspect because she’s Dracthyr, but I do look forward to seeing her reconnect with her black dragon essence and rebuilding her Weryn.

    Especially as an Evoker player.

    1. Thrall subbed in.
    2. They’ve been very adamant that Dracthyr are true dragons; I can think of no better way to drive this point home than to make one an Aspect.

Well, hate to say I told you so…..

Emberthal also makes sense as a "Wrathion/Sabellian think they are entitled to it because they are direct relatives, but Emberthal actually manifests what the Black Aspect should be" angle.

    She did.
Nope, just blue. Then she turns arcane purple for the most part, which isn't a flight colour. Visual illusions due to mixing of coloured light don't count.

And again, they need to be able to use the entire Dracthyr magic arsenal. Just having spells associated with different Flights is insufficient. An Evoker must know every spell at a combat-ready level, not just multiple.

Honestly I just think it is an interesting and alternative angle. I thought about it much earlier on but with how much 10.0.7 and 10.1 focus on Emberthal, there needs to be a resolution to her story and imo the Dracthyr will need a signature NPC who has a role big enough that their presence going forward will be mandated. Given that factions are sidelined, it should not be Azurathel and Cinderthresh. It has to be Emberthal.

I also thought that it could potentially mean that lorewise this is not leading to a third spec but rather to her having a unique role but the datamining suggests it will indeed happen (imo possibly in 10.1.7 or 10.2 but not earlier)

Beyond that I expect the Dragon Isles to "expand" with a zone added just east of Ohn'ahran plains; either part of the Dream being transposed into reality or just having the area surrounded by green mist and acting like a portal to the Dream (only it will actually just be there).

The main "mystery" of the expansion is what Tyr will do. On how we get him back it will probably be some contrived time travel scenario in the 10.2.X patches; I doubt the how will matter that much. But what will he do when he is back? Iridikron just doesn't seem that big of a threat to me (especially compared to Murozond). So what will Tyr be after?

My main question is how the next expac would be introduced through the plot. I expect Avaloren more than a World Revamp (because if they were going to do it they would be more flirty with the idea when questioned) but I am not sure WHY we would go there. Probably because Tyr asks us? I really expected Odyn to show up as an antagonist (not a villain) but he might be saved as a main character for Avaloren.

My money is on Iridikron. I’m just saying that Emberthal wouldn’t surprise me at all, nor would it be “impossible.” If an Orc can do it, a Dragon Lite certainly can.

Just . . .no. We are told that explicitly. The best of the Dracthyr are evokers.
    Edict: Evokers

Every dracthyr is an expert soldier. Whatever weyrn they serve, they use their talents to defend dragonkind in obedience to the Earth-Warder.

Yet even among such illustrious ranks, there are a select few who transcend the skills of their kin. Who are able to master the specialties of all weyrns and shift between roles at will.

These are the evokers. The best of the best, finest of the finest.

These elite forces possess the rare potential to focus their essences into an instrument of preservation or a weapon of devastation.

The journey to such mastery is long, and few dracthyr can see this path through. But those who learn to harness their full potential shall be honored with the title of evoker.

    No, that isn't the case.
The starting zone establishes that in the first few quests.

Evokers are the elite soldier squad, that learned to harness all Aspectral powers.
They are the exception, not the rule.

    Again, Emberthal is of the Black dragon essence;

You three shall be the examples all Dracthyr will follow.
Sarkareth, my devastator, you shall rend your foes with the powers of the Red and Blue Dragonflight.
Viridia, my preserver, you shall heal our allies with the graces of Green and Bronze Dragonflights.
And Emberthal, you will wield the essence of the Black Dragonflight to augment all those around you with my power.
By my command, kneel and obey.
yet she can clearly use red and blue dragon magic from those essences as well. When you have a Dracthyr that can utilize the power of more than one weryn, you have an Evoker.

All. Not some. That's a big difference. If she only had Black abilities, she'd have a very stunted arsenal.

You don't have to show that she has non-Black abilities. You have to show that she has access to everything.

Which she does, since her weryn is black dragon-based, but she can clearly do blue dragon-based abilities like Eternity Surge which is utilized by a completely different weryn.

  17. #3837
There is no Weryn dedicated to one sort of flight.

All Dracthyr, all Weyrns have the magic of all the flights except black. As we see in the Forbidden reach, the black dragon magic was siphoned away out of the Dracthyr by Adamanthia this by order of Neltharion.

The only difference between each Weyrn is one is more focused on healing, one on offense, one on defense and one on espionage, but they all have red, blue, green and bronze magic. All except black, which we now know was.siphoned out of them

The level of confusion over what is and isn’t an Evoker is hilarious. Sakareth, Viridia, and Emberthal are Evokers. Full stop.

That's showing that she has non-Black abilities, which we already established is insufficient as proof.
