Before that. The moment we caught a single glimpse of one in the features trailer people were asking for them. My fiance was confused why they weren't playable when the expansion launched and asked me when they would be. When, not if. It never occurred to him they wouldn't be playable. He rarely plays and doesn't follow WoW news.

That's what I meant. I thought it was the art panel when we first saw them. In any case, if you go back and watch the art panel video, the presenter actually pauses for reaction after introducing the vulpera. Blizzard knew they would be popular... and they were! (Maybe it was the What's Next panel. I'd have to check)

I mean, I could have misunderstood what I've been told. But also, I'd really fucking hope not. Combat was already renamed Outlaw, what are they going to do rename Outlaw to Bard?

For what it's worth, your version would be more plausible in a vacuum. The devs themselves said that they'd be more likely to add new support specs than change existing ones since they don't want to remove playstyles that players like, such as Enhancement. They seem to have learned from the Survival revamp (enough to acknowledge that doing it again wouldn't go over well, at least).

Personally, I do think it sounds plausible that multiple leaders saw it but didn't get everything right- I'm pretty sure some of the past leaks got details wrong too (I think the Cataclysm leak in particular said that Azshara would also be a main antagonist alongside Deathwing). If that's the case, new specs would be the better move and more likely based on past interviews. That said, multiple leaks copying each other makes sense too... even if I can't really see why anyone would want to bother.

I'd probably be happy with this expansion myself, but judging from this thread, I seem to be the exception in liking more Titan and exploration stuff (I'd prefer K'aresh or playable Jinyu, but I'd take this over some other ideas I've seen. Especially Undermine).

Yeah, i dont understand why Blizzard blueball players by adding random races (like Vulpera or Void Elves) instead of long time fan favorites like Ethereals, Arakkoa, Ogres etc. Screw the lore, its bent if gameplay demands it anyway since eternity.
I want to play majestic Bird-Priest, not some rocky orc-dwarf.

@Izalla Yeah, my comment about Metzen isn't "Well, the internet says December 15th, so he started on THAT date." I was just trying to use dates to create a timeline for people in here who may not know. I wouldn't be surprised if he started even months before this date (therefore, over a year total).

I'm dead sure very few people would actually main an Ogre in a serious way. Many want them, yeah, but my expectations are very low with those. For some reason I can only see random dudes trolling with them lol

personally getting new races, have always been the top tier new thing to get for me, especially in a reveal trailer. I though Goblin and Worgen was a cool reveal at blizzcon.

People have asked for literally every single race in the game to be playable at one point or another. I saw people clamoring for Niffen, even, lol.

Blizz's on record as saying they'll add races when they feel its appropriate in the story. WoD would've been the perfect time for Arakkoa and Ogres, but we all know how the crunch went with that xpac. Lots of cut content. When it comes down to it, a new race is probably the first idea that gets cut because it adds very little gameplay past their unlock quest and starter zone, if they even get one.
