i feel like this is disingenuous, take the legion feature overview for example, the first 2 zones we're shown both have completely new architecture and biomes.
Shadowlands was the same, we immediately see completely new assets.

I feel like the stills we've been shown feel like they could just as easily be from a place we've been to just cleverly edited to seem new.

I agree with you that the shots in previous trailers immediately pan to very interesting locations instantly
i just also think if you went to one of those videos and maybe took a still shot of some random location or of mobs fighting... it'd look pretty similar

im not saying this is real, just saying that this could easily just be ill-timed or random panning shots over the zone and we aren't really seeing the 'meat'

i doubt heavily that the opening pan for the desert zone would open up to random harpies and beard ogres fighting you know?
I also doubt that the legion trailer would've opened in Highmountain with random tauren fighting a drogbar in a dank cave somewhere

I seriously hope for no classic plus. That means all the extra people they increased the team with are actually working on stuff I'll be playing and not stretched out over two games being made. They need to nail this next expac or it'll be three meh in a row (and BFA wasn't that hot either after legion) (I like(d) DF personally but I can relate to the view of some that it is too soft or w/e)

I want to believe -if the 4 screenshots are real- that they're like some kind of a distraction, like for example in Shadowlands. Yeah, we saw whatever colored Bolvar, but we couldn't really imagine what would have happen in there xD

In the Legion trailer there is exactly one shot of random nature with no architecture, and it features a brand new creature model.





It's very unlikely to me that the next expansion's trailer would feature four such shots.

i will say tho one of the most 'convenient' things IMO about these 4 images is the fact that they place the baby rock dinosaur so prominently with the big rock dinosaur, almost as if to say "LOOK ITS THE BIG VERSION OF THE PET GUYS!" as if they want you to compare the two and go "must be real new assets based around this pet that just came out"

Bugger that. I would take tinker over the 4 bland pictures.
Hell, I would take the sword of Sargeras being replaced by an equally high middle finger aimed at me personally cause at least that would be more invented and visually distinct.

My personal issue is that he poisons so many discussions that I hope it doesn't happen to spite him but I'm not so heartless that if they did announce tinkers that I'd be glad that the other tinker fans got their class. I have a similar viewpoint towards the Star Citizen people.

I'm sure some people felt the same way about the Dracthyr stuff. Heh. Anyone can dismiss what they want but, until I see another leak equally believable, I cannot ignore them in the discussion, myself.

We don't know the exact timeline. Maybe the Keepers and Khaz Algar began on good terms, but then the residents of Khaz Algar started worshiping some other power, i.e. became heretics, and conflict between the two groups began. With the Keepers ending up pushed out of the area.

The Watcher is comparing the Khaz Algar earthen to dwarves and dwarves did not appear until well after Odyn's imprisonment.

I hear you brother, I think a large part of me is just kinda coping because I personally feel like the supposed leak looks boring and just more of the same in a way.

If the Avaloren leak is real, then the overarching storyline will have to carry this expansion.

Legion teaser also had boring shots, but the overarching storyline carried the expansion because people were hyped for the return of the Legion.

I expect at the very least Azshara to make her comeback in the next expansion as a major villain.

i love talking about the convincing leaks, its fun to speculate and wonder and debunk or even believe! its part of the fun of the lead up

Unfortunately we don't have much else to go on. Hopefully we get a better leak in the coming days. If fake, perhaps whoever made the fakes is going to post different angles and claim it's a different part of the video, and give us a little bit more to dig into than just these random four stills.

agreed! which is why i think people dooming about how these 4 zones look maybe should take a step back and re-evaluate.

My intent with the legion comparison wasn't to say Legion had boring zones, it was just that context and story can give a lot of life to something that may otherwise look bland at first glance

if the story turns out to be about how Khaz Algar dug too deep and accidentally woke up the 5th old god and this is atually a void invasion expansion, that could still be super hype for those people

There is room for good story development if we get the crowning of Fenran Thaurissan II as king of dwarves. Just imagine all the drama that could start from wildhammer dwarves, and the impact of his new political view to submit his authority, especially on those newly discovered dwarves.

(I know there's legitimate reasons for why our player characters would do it but again why am I doing Iridikrons' goal???). Re-origination at this point would be preferrable, honestly. Legion also had zones that were steeped in Warcraft lore. Highmountain and Suramar and their relation to the War of the Ancients, Stormheim delving into Odyn and what happened with the keepers from Ulduar, Val'sharah featuring Ravencrest and the Nightmare.

Is there a legitimate reason for our character to do it? Does our character care all that much about the Titans and their keepers? Since when?

I do think if a still image of valsharah had leaked of green forest people might have just thought "huh what is that?"

but avaloren is a new place so it cant reach for that old history to help elevate it in that case and has to build its own lore
