Fate of Avaloren? More like Fake of Avaloren

I'm just remembering the leak of Velen's art on the wall of an E3 booth before the Draenei reveal. That far back, probably the oldest leak I can remember other than the Blood Elf stuff in a mag (which was known to happen anyway because of Adon in EPL).
Nobody had any idea of the context behind the Draenei but it was this Eredar-looking weird asshole with a huge staff. Absolute meltdown. Good times.
If Warlords didn't cause people to torch them, or even the allegations that came out more recently, nothing will, especially given how much smaller the pool of fervent players are now vs. casual ones compared to back in the day.

Unfortunately there seems to be somewhat of an established pattern for this. Blizzard never wants to give the players exactly what they want, they always seem compelled to give it their own "spin".
You want high elves? Too bad, best we can do is purple emo elves.
You want the mechagnomes from Ulduar? Sorry, have diaper gnomes.
Oh, you think the Broken are finally gonna join the Alliance? Nah, light bulb draenei it is.
You know I hope the player housing leak is real cause i really want player housing and new races lol
of course i set my bar pretty low tho

I lost years furnishing a house in skyrim, I can relate to you
Edit: know what's my problem even with transmog? when I find a set or a house arrangement I like then even if I try something else, after some time I return to the original setting. even if in some regards the new one is better

It's definitely not 1:1, I also care about housing far more than that - I just really don't want it to be an instant forgive if the "meat" of the rest is weak.
But it's not gonna matter anyway.
Yeah. It told the story it was supposed to, but the actual "wooo, exciting" stuff was the launch trailer. Arguably true for the Shadowlands stuff as well. Blizzard's storytelling has really changed relative to their openings.
Mind, people called Wrath's intro boring as shit when it first came out, too. They were wrong, but.

I’m sorry but if you hate wow and expansions this much, why not quit? You don’t know anything about the expansion, but you’re assuming it’s “just another” anything. And I’m sorry, but essentially every expansion is “just another island adventure” it’s how most expansions to most games work lol. They add more lands and new stories, that’s the very basic idea of expanding on an existing game world.
Outland? Just another island, in space. Draenor? Just another island, in the past. Northrend? Just another island, in the north. Cataclysm? Just another small series of islands added in various places. Every patch zone? Just another island.
I get your feelings and I’m not trying to attack you here <3 I’m just saying that every expansion is “just another” zone and story, so if you’re not enjoying them anymore…

My dream cinematic is just human paladins killing the Forsaken en masse.
That would be kinda hype.
Honestly, I wonder how much the Broken tease was actually meant to be anything substantial, or if it was just a quest designer tossing it in for fun with no real plans to follow it up knowing how their narrative design goes.
DF's had so many teasers and possible plot hooks for future content set up it feels like the actual expansion story is a footnote. Uncanny resemblance to how BfA went minus having a third major patch (that ended up feeling like a rushed conclusion to another plot point so they could jump to what they really wanted to write in 9.0).
Feel like any title with Avaloren in it is unlikely to be real purely because they all sound really clunky.
