I want Savannah, tropical jungle, dessert, mountains, and 1 underground zone in a future expansion. Not necessarily Avaloren though. Id rather avaloren be based on Camelot.

Feel like any title with Avaloren in it is unlikely to be real purely because they all sound really clunky.

I agree with this feel. It sounds awkward and like, “where?” I feel like the point won’t be the land itself but what’s happening there. Then again, I felt the same about “Mists of Pandaria” and was wrong lol

Is set in Avaloren, Tyr is the one that opens the way for us. Azeroth is considered to be the strongest of world souls because it's actually twin world souls in the planet. The Titans took over Azeroth, while Life and the Void got their hands on Avaloren. Neither has full a majority control and is working in tandem. Elune and a fifth old god working in secret together. Tyr stumbled across the info, and helped remove all mention to keep it safe as he saw that cooperation is possible opposed to an eternity of conflict. Tyr had Nozdormu erase evidence of Avaloren by changing small parts of the time ways, and was made to forget, which set it motion the cracks that would lead to Murozond.

With Tyr coming back, so did his knowledge of the place. Odyn finds Tyr's secret and is furious and gets his Halls ready for war. Tyr escapes Odyn with the help of the newly empowered dragonflights and sets up a plan for going to Avaloren with the help of other mortal races. Turalyon, Alleria and Wrathion featured heavily, with a changed Anduin making a return but not for the throne. Khaz Algar is home to the descendents of titan keepers that willingly accepted the curse of flesh, and they are dwarf like in features but as big as Kul Titans. Also new races such as a owl like race (Strigs), a mouse race (Rodenian) and a new K'Thir subspecies, populate Avaloren.

And now that my fever dream is over, I will sleep until blizzcon

In five days we will know what the next expansion is, and currently what I expect from the audience if they re eal Avaloren is a big "where?"

It will probably look cool, and you would get all kinds of interesting reasons to go there, but you couldn't use the actual game ot really justify it. Saying that players would have known if they read this one fluff text in the one dungeon that I imagine most players may have run once or twice over half a year ago isn't going to cut it.
Even worse would be to expect players to know because they keep up with speculation, or worse expect players to spoil story beats by reading the stuff on the PTR.

The most likely reason for us to go to Khaz Algar currently is a potential rebellion against the Titans plotline, which has not been introduced to the players in the game yet. Meaning that the hypothetical reveal would be a whole lot of:
"For reasons you will uncover in the next patch", "raid which will be revealed at a later date", "you will help them with their unspecified problems".
Basically a whole lot of nothing over some pretty pictures.

Later patches in WoW would then have to fill in the various blanks of why going to Khaz Algar makes sense. Why Titan keepers are bad. Or even what the area is, and why we have not gone there yet.

i think to some players housing wouldn't be a lame fluff feature, it could become one of the primary means of gameplay.

for me i don't like collection stuff very much, I like to get 3-5 transmogs and 1 or 2 mounts i like and i basically dont collect anything until something i think looks cool comes out again

if i had housing and could decorate a place with all this stuff im collecting, trophies from bosses, an armory full of all the tier i like? id be doing all of it, because that visual and that space that i could share with friends means more to me than filling out a log or achievement points

Character customization isn't playable, repeatable content.
Player housing is, and it would make me add another 1k hours to my playtime counter just on that feature alone.

while i agree they aren't 1:1, i spend a loooot of time customizing characters w/ new looks, which then sends me in many directions to get pieces to make a matching outfit

it is very much content for me, considering all of the possible race/class combinations we have now

just recently i created + leveled a NE warlock with the dark ranger look which was a lot of fun this month !

It's been quite low compared to other threads. Half of Legion's to be exact. Then again, this leak season has been dry with esteem low after BFA and SL. At least the other chunk is hanging out in Classic+.

I would argue that every announcement needs a big hook. Something for the announcers to point to and say "be excited for this".
Usually this is either the location being exciting, like BfA or WoD. Or the plot being exciting, like Legion.

Avaloren and Khaz Algar currently has neither. The best they can do is make it look pretty and go from there.
It doesn't have narrative buildup for the location, or why we should go there. It doesn't have any known characters to build around.

The best reason I saw to go there is a colonization plotline where the Alliance and Horde are looking for new places to settle, though even that would make much more sense after some buildup, which means a world revamp.

You dont know what the plot for Avaloren will be lmao. You are grasping at straws. You just dont want it.
