I wonder if there's a similar hint in 10.x that's completely gone over everyone's heads.

As one of the few remaining South Sea islands we haven't seen, Tel Abim is back on the menu, people!

This, so much this. Avaloren/Khaz Algar/Elun'Ahir/Erithria/Nighsquall are ingame books that no one reads unless they go out of their way to click and read those.
But Kul'Tiran/Zandalari NPCs are on a whole different level of foreshadowing. Not those obscure book references 99% of players have no idea about.

I can't wait to see that it is an actual obvious expansion instead of those fringe things.

my bet is on the nozdormu/iridkron questline (why do the titans preserve this timeline). It is an obvious plothook for a timetravel/alternate timeline expansion that would fit in nicely compared to random elemental dwarves stuff.

They were part of a major quest in Azsuna involving Sea Giants using captives in a weird parody of battle pets. Hardly an obscure cave.

Honestly my money is just because Metzen is back more than anything. I know Metzen has anxiety so who knows if he'll handle the announcement but just having Thrall and Metzen both front in center would be a ton of free advertising.

We just rebuilt Tyr and now we are going to get his memory back. The Tyr's guard is also reforming. So I really feel like the next expansion is going to involve them.

I wouldn't call it major. It was a side quest you can easily skip/miss while questing through Aszuna.

As Marlamin mentioned below, there is that Koi looking fish from the South Sea
Plus we have The owl loa of change, who sounds like the Egyptian Moon god.

So that leaves us with...what? Island on the south seas with a desert biome, playable Jinyu, likely partial revamp and focus on Elune.
I would preorder this.

Point of order, but there's still probably going to be a 10.2.3 and 10.2.7 patches after the Dream patch. To say nothing of the next expansions pre-patch Plenty of time to fix Tyr and have him explain any missing gaps in-game. Could just be unfortunate that the patch cycle worked out that we don't get those patches until after BlizzCon.

It is the megadungeon thing, dawn of the infinites. most people are too much focused on the void disc/portal/xalataht references there, that iridikron working with the infinites and actually questions this timeline is glossed over.

I mean, I'm not invested into Teriz's ideas, but Nerub thing is definitely much more highlighted in DF than any Avaloren. Mr. Sunflower and this item desc at the very least
