Yeah, like i honestly don't care that much about next expansion theme anymore, i will wait to see the features, but since i saw this leak with this new race im like "fuck no" because i know blizzard might choose to go this way if leak happens to be real.

For people that don't care about ogres or mok'nathal it's nothing if some avaloren offshoot of ogres gets added, but as a fan with a lot of hopium for one of original ones to appear for years and years, it would be pretty much a final nail in the coffin.

I was leaning more towards them being fake after the Taliesin video - he made some good points and knows people at Blizzard. But he has also said that real leaks are bad. It is possible he was deflecting for the sake of friends he has at Blizzard.

What I'm about to say may sound snarky and it's 100% not intended to. But:

I love how violently honest you're being about this. Like you heard something, but are self-acknowledging it may have been total BS. But you're still excited so you want to talk about it. I think I'd do the same thing lol.

The only thing that's really exciting about those initial 4 slides (to me) is the new race. Otherwise yea, feel like the zones look samey. All of that said, it's just four small stills. There's a lot more that could be behind it.


My #1 concern for this expansion is that we've entered a "formulaic" almost FFXIV like cadence where we get: 8 dungeons, 3 raids, and new zones that are just variants of "go chase the rare".

I think the vaulks + ring addition was an absolute blast. I'd love to see more and more content like that.

Was contemplating on saying this since its 3rd hand info (so take it as you will).
Over the weekend I got 3rd hand confirmation (colleague of an ex-colleague type of thing) that the Features Overview screens are real.
As I said take this with a 50kg bag of salt since its literally a "friend of a friend" situation.(Even I am not taking it 100% for serious)
Tbh if true then I am a bit disappointed at least from the small subarea we can see of each zone. The wasteland one looks cool, but others are very basic.

Oh boy, I hope some of you friends are like some of mine, I spend a lot of salt with them.

I don't know if I would particularly play an ogre or Mok'nathal, but specifically in the cases of ogres, to introduce a new race that is seemingly a replacement for the race is just more of the same new lore/races that take us further away from the original feel of the world.

Except Dragon Isles was a long standing location that we've heard about for years, and it was cut content from Vanilla.

A story about a green dragon flying west into the unknown against Tyr's wishes doesn't really mean anything. It could be as simple as symbolism of the dragons disobeying Tyr.

The dragon isle was literally nothing but a wc2 map and a single picture of a old god temple on an island, it was not a “long standing location” and wrathion mentioning it in BFA was the only time it became any thing more and even then it was still all of nothing.

So no it didn’t mean any more then the book about The green dragon and was just as likely to be in 8.3 as where ever that dragon went is to be in 10.2.

Yeah I do realize I'm putting my name on the line as well with what I say so just want to make sure that the flow of information is understood.

And for the people that might not have been present in the previous hype thread for DF, or have forgot, I did mention that at the time I was working in MS (switched jobs at the start of this year).


And I agree, the template expansion is my biggest fear from zone pics

I mean he is kinda right with his point that it has everything we speculate about and that never worked out in our favor. I get that we run out of places to go, so avaloren seems like the only choice, but there are so many open storylines from previous expansions that haven't been touched yet, so its weird that all the leaks always circle around the same three things. (could also be a sign that it may be true, like almost every leak last time was about the dragon isles, but i just don't think its avaloren)

This is a feeling thats felt by lot of players, even my guildies scoffed at the images when I linked them and just said its more of the same.

If they are real, then it's kind of funny/grim that two expansions in a row will have had genuine leaks that received a lot of skepticism because many people thought they looked too bad to be real.

Housing or some equivalent is an option, though would be weird to have it on the opposite side of the planet compared to where we usually are.
That kind of feature feels like it should be as close to Stormwind and Orgrimmar as possible to make it feel evergreen no matter the expansion. Having it in Avaloren or whatever would make it feel like Garrisons in having it tied to an old expansion.

Housing is never, ever, ever, ever going to happen and I'm so sick of reading about it.

People always doubt leaks to varying degrees though, really.

Some people bought the masks that Blizzard hastily added to try and hide the Worgen and Goblin ones for Catalcysm, people refused to believe the title Mists of Pandaria when that leaked, there was that whole thing about "Bolvar's flame is the wrong color" too for Shadowlands.

Must admit, I've gotten bored and not logged in for a few days, found myself playing through the Yakuza series (Excellent games btw).
