because this maybe can read like somewhat sarcastic or missread as offensive: i mean the above seriously. it’s imo just a waste of time coming to MMOC these days. the great golden glory wow times are long over. all you find here is the retail and classic 2023 crowd. the „normal“ wow ppls, worth taking a word with, are gine since a good while.

On topic of the last "leak", I don't know if we can trust this Reddit poster honestly. If yes I really wonder how those types of Reddit posters (history shows a lot of memes and trolling) comes to this type of information/images

I mean exactly? WoW forums weren’t like this 15+ years ago. So much polarity and negativity within the community. The game has soured for a lot of people. You say it’s the best ever, that means it is changing. You seeing all the negativity is the overall negative reaction to the changes.
Started in closed beta, probably before your class was even in the game.

maybe you missunderstood me. i also play wow since may 2005 without interruption in sub. i like DF and my class’s design overall. i just say „coming to MMOC with your hopes is not worth it“. imo a player type like you will no longer find here, what you are searching for. that’s all. at least i stopped for myself coming here on a daily base. but i don’t stopped wow playing.

since it sounded like you are in the same boat, my advice was just: if you come to MMOC and find a whiny childish 2023 crowd, simply do no longer come here often. at least for me it works.

that’s all. maybe you missunderstood me, because i am (obviously) not a native english speaker.

I'm sure we've already talked about it, but I think it certainly has room for more conversation.

    Let's take the stance that Blizzard is hinting at something through their synthwave playlist animations;

We have Jaina studying in Stormwind, which is just a play on the typical lofi beats video.

In the second we have Thrall riding a wolf through Durotar changing from night to day. This is also a typical lofi beats video spin.

In the third, we have Nozdormu and Chromie somewhere in the Temporal Conflux within a portal room.

The last two are particularly interesting. They share the same art style, but even more interestingly we see Nozdormu conjure an image of the nighttime Orgrimmar in the main portal, the same exact art from the nighttime portion of the Thrall animation. Using purple tones as night is not uncommon, but it has possibility of being a choice with the connotations purple carries in WoW, especially currently. Thrall also happens to be our Blizzcon key art representative for WoW, something I've been adament on being related to Metzen's return.

This is all probably generic marketing, generic imagery, etc., but... is there something here?

He also apparently posted fake leaks during 2018's BlizzCon from what I've seen here.

If we're honest; it's society at large that is polarised like this in the English speaking world, perhaps outside of it too. We've approached a point at which everyone expects to individually be catered too in the precise and exact fashion they had imagined they would without compromise. This seems to be true in politics, media, general customer services etc.

No matter what happens there are going to be people complaining this time next week. Hopefully they are the minority though.

Looks like this is mainly nostalgia appeal, which implies they will make something that will appeal to the old school fanbase.
I can only picture two possibilities : Either they will announce a world revamp, or they will announce some WoW Classic novelty.

yeah, i agree to that. that’s why i am just in this thread. overall it’s actually the only thread worth coming to MMOC. and most what i said above is, for me, true for nearly all other threads. but this one is really the exception. but i get what you mean and i agree. this thread is the most wrong place to say what i said. you are right.

and i for sure as hell do not wanna be the cool guy. tbh i give a fk. so, back to topic, let the hypetrain roll.

I looked at it, it wasn't really a fake leak. It was just a circlejerk message to complain about Blizzard's being greedy, only caring about turning the game into phone games, etc.

I mean we got kinda Bad Xpac(BFA) and then we got hit wit SL and bro... SL was really bad it was the first xpac since i started playing in WOLTK that i skipped 1 major patch completely(9.2).
People got really sad/angry with game and general negativity started to go wild, i'm kind of "I'll always have faith" guy, so i hoped DF would be good and for me and many of my friends it has been really good, of course there are problems, but it was a step in a good direction.

It is really hard to build faith/trust in something, but it only need some grave mistakes to make it all crumble.

We had some quest in the jade forest with POV’s and internal monologue when the SI7 argents tell us about there findings while looking for Anduin and there horde counterparts do the same.

Nothing is stopping blizzard from doing the same to give us a simple experience of what we get in the novels atleast for more actiony scenes from The books that would made better quest then just dialog heavy scenes.
Evil only wins when it spreads. It can cause destruction, it can cause death—but those are consequences of its nature, not its victory. Not its goal. The danger of evil, the purpose of evil, is that it causes those who would oppose it to become evil also.

I mean people want him to return so it even prevents complaints of his return.

I mean would anyone be surprised or annoyed if any old god returned? I think they make much more sense as an eternal threat that we can only really delay/ smack down when they appear

You wouldn't want to eliminate as a threat forever though; that would cost the narrative much

A C'thun, Yogg and N'zoth expansion seems inevitable

I mean dead and alive was always blurry for old gods. Y'shaarj was the deadest of the bunch yet his heart was still beating and still whispering.

Back to the past or elemental expansion, chance to get void expansion 0%

I remember an old interview where the developers talked about possible intervention in the past.

Unless of course, as the devs have eluded to, that as a mysterious background force the Old Gods are great but as a tangible character who has to serve as an actual antagonist the individual old gods are terrible and only serve the function of a punching bag.

I don't think this is necessarily true, but it seems to be the philosophy the developers are following.

I think Old Gods were overused in WoW, and Blizzard need to move up in the Shadow hierarchy. Void Lords, where are you at?

Which is weird considering Iridikron is literally linked to Void right now

I agree that they should also try to give us that stuff ingame, because the game needs to stand alone. That said, it's baffling when they delay something that could have improved the whole expansion's storytelling by 1000%.
