Azeroth is iconic. Its map is iconic. Suddenly having two sides to display would be weird. Having to toggle between two sides on the in-game world map would be weird.

Maybe Blizzard nudging Kalimdor to the east at the start of Dragonflight is the simplest explanation, and Avaloren is simply in the westernmost part of the current map? If it's vertical (caves etc) it might not need as much space on the map, either.

They should make the world map into a 3D globe so that you can spin it really fast with your cursor when you're bored.

We already have to do this whenever we want to look at Outland, Draenor, or Shadowlands. Adding one more button in the corner somewhere that flips to the Other Side of Azeroth isn't that big of a change.

I hate that btw. The UX of going to another realm is so clunky imo. I've always wondered why there are no real improved world map addons that make switch between realms and zones simpler. Going on a tangent here, but have you ever tried clicking through to something like deadwind pass from an adjacent zone. It's so freaking annoying
