Blizzard won't be that dumb to make subscribers feel like they loose value.
With instruments like Trading Post they can encourage subscribes to continue being subscribers, while F2P players will be able to play the game fully but, for example, get less monthly cosmetic rewards, less tendies etc.
I always thought Trading Post was the first bird foreshadowning F2P. It's very suitable tool to monetize the game without removing base game kit.
Why would they? WoW still is the most popular MMO, even with a subscription. It has three major rivals: FF14 (subscription-based), ESO (pseudo-subscription), and GW2 (I don't remember if they have a premium subscription). If you consider PvP, there's BDO, which has gained more popularity recently, but that game also has a basically mandatory premium subscription fee.
So, for what reasonable reason would they go free-to-play? WoW is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG); it is not a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) or Battle Royale. It doesn't need to go free-to-play to compete against the other rivals in the market. I could see us getting a new tier in the Game Pass that includes WoW, but that will only happen next year, as Spencer said that they will not be announcing anything of the sorts this year.

Tbh I’m very skeptical about the binary leaks until we get some more hard evidence. Throwing stuff into a binary translator doesn’t make it any more legit.
However don’t get me wrong it is fun to speculate, I am curious about the artificer class & how it’d operate if it were true.
Artificer sounds more interesting than tinker, more diverse

Artificer did it for me. It's either very smart if it's fake or it's legit because Artificer makes way more sense than Tinker.
Is the new WoW book out for EU/UK?
Can't find it on Audible & Amazon has it released Nov. 7?

Agreed.
I see it just being a “jack of all trades” version of engineer/tinker using all different kinds of technology. (Gnome, Goblin, Draenei, Elf, etc)
Which from the player character side makes sense given we’ve always been “special”. (Like Evoker is a super special title for us being the “Jack of all trades” for using dragonflight magics)
And is possible because there’s that gnome/goblin couple in lore that combine their gnomish/goblin tech.
I mean a lot of players have been discussing the Artificer class concept for years, it's out there with necromancer and bard, and for a lot of people it has always been interchangeable with tinker/been a flavour of tinker. Ofc the two could be completely separate, but that would be redundant. If we are indeed getting Artificers, I would be pretty excited!
