By the rest leak description you can shape the gaming portrait of the leaker - he is well into ALL Blizzard stuff. Him not knowing Mauga's name is a red flag.
He 100% knows the name but decided to go with vague description thinking it would add credibility to his made up stuff.

I firmly believe Blizzard are fundamentally wrong to no longer cater to 30-40yo dudes, and this is partly the reason why it looses its playerbases. In my opinion for teenagers their games suck, so in result they fail with both demographics.

Exactly. Blizzard used to paint with a broader brush, so to speak. They were targeting multiple demographics from kids to daddy gamers and tried to appeal to them. Now it's just teenagers, their mobile phones and their parents credit cards. Quick join lobby gaming with instant gratification and lots of credit card swiping.

Last Blizzcon had Metallica . . . the first one had The Offspring. Muse, Ozzy, Foo Fighters have performed there.
But hey, WoW also fitted that type of music then and is very much K-pop now. Honestly so many of us are hanging on this game through nostalgia but it really seems that they are passing it on to Gen Z. No idea how wise that is.

From what I've read about the Wowhead article, it's really more of an Overwatch thing if they're bringing a K-pop group... though WoW does need new blood, there's only so much they can do to fuel off nostalgia.

If getting a K-pop group is going to garner some attention for Blizz and their games, I'd say we bite the bullet on this one. (Honestly, this is probably best left as a whole different discussion for another thread than in Patch/Expansion speculation stuff.)

2023 was an amazing year for gaming with a vast field of GOTY candidates and imo almost none of those games were geared towards Gen Z. I mean Alan Wake2, BG3, Hogwarts (this is a young millenial IP, NOT a Gen Z IP), Zelda?

I'm still 60/40 leaning on fakes. There are some weird things that don't add up for me, but could easily be from the pics being stills of a video, so no idea
Anyway in all honesty Blizzard has a glaring problem of space. The "old guard" up until legion just re-used old places and characters (except for Pandaria) without building meaningfull new stories. Now they must set their stories somewhere, revamping EK/Kalimdor and setting them here is an option, while creating new landmasses is another one. I think Avaloren is going to happen one way or another.

One issue here is if Blizzard would really make two expacks so similar one after the other. But I have no idea, so let's wait and see.

Ok so I mentioned this earlier but I did some digging. This is the image the social team posted a month ago, it has a copy of the image inside itself as a recurring joke, there are two elements that are changed, aside from missing pins and threads on the small version.

The hat in the image that disappeared in the nested one, disappears. That hat was just put on the trading post. Both backgrounds of the trading post images are eastern kingdoms, next to where it says "Forbidding Sea". (The trading post images are a straight cut through the continent).

The hat, kalimdor, the 'old god?' / 'new god?'/ thing could be pushed into something to do with the kalimdor sword hole

Kalimdor revamp. new kalimdor acts as a "different" continent to current kalimdor, so can travel between the two through a time portal in org and hyjal.
overall story on kalimdor is more simple, grounded stories. mulg

This is kinda interesting as a way to embiggen and DOES match with the youtube music video portal that only shows kalimdor over and over.

There is a teleporter pad there which takes us to Khaz'Algar, which is underground, like way waaay underground.

Niffen / Dig association. Otherwise the hat being over the eastern kingdoms leans more to the eastern kingdom revamp theories.

...Yeah, I don't know about that. They would need to change their idea of boss designs going forward if they put the game on Game Pass since they can't use Addons or a mouse and keyboard.

Especially since only until now that they started working on boss fights around WeakAuras and even tried privating auras on the new raid so now people will struggle trying to telegraph most of Fyrakk's spells.

The opening ceremony is given a massive 2h30m slot. It is entirely possible the ceremony will only last 1h30m like it usually does and there is a hidden 1h panel right after it for Odyssey.
