In my taste Renown cosmetic rewards in DF suck in 90% of cases. I like some simple shoulderpads Maruuk sold, but the rest factions offered something that looked really underwhelming to make me want to grind reputation.

I hope the cosmetic system, if it will be implemented, would look cool and good enough to motivate players grind an expansion. Its only the matter of how good cosmetics look.

If they'd put raid level of quality items behind renown, id surely grind it. Bronze two polygon swords and shield in Valdrakken? Nah, not going to bother.

lemme say just there is no way they are adding a class named Artificer... look at all the other class names, all super simple names:

Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Monk, Druid, Demon Hunter, Death Knight, Evoker.

There is no way they are adding one that is a four-syllable one-word class name no one has ever heard of in the context of Warcraft.

Not saying I believe it, but pretty sure that reasoning went out the window with evokers. I remember this exact argument being presented then.

I mean, if you're not being sarcastic... Evoker is right there. But also, Artificers have been a thing in the game for a long time. They are the people who make all of the Draenei crystal tech/barriers/guardian constructs/etc.

Call me contrarion, but I really don't think there'll be much of a shitstorm outside of the microcosm of players we have on this forum.

I'm also not expecting a shitstorm, but instead apathy, which btw is a lot worse.

Very happy to see that nothing has leaked as of yet. At least, IMO, nothing has been believable yet. Seems that Blizzard is playing their cards close to its chest this time.

We literally have no idea of what is coming. The books in game and War of the Scaleborn, all point to different places in which 11.0 could happen.

I think that we will get a 10.3. I still want to believe that we are going to Avaloren within DF.

Regarding 11.0, I think that we will get Khaz Algar along with a partial revamp, either Northrend or the EK. Anyway, we will know soon enough !!

Similar sentiment happened before Pandaria. And then population number decreased significantly. People underestimate the importance of good presentation.

I remember my feeling when they presented Legion back in 2015, and compare that to my feelings when they presented Shadowlands in 2019. Those were drastically different. And Legion stopped the bleeding, while Shadowlands pretty much threw the game into the free fall that even good DF expansion barely managed to stop.

If it will be Avaloren, Blizzard better be sure its feature trailer will have something WAAAAAY better and more than uninspiringly looking location shots, race/class combination and some another scuffed system.

As far as leaks go, I've been pretty much resigned to the 4 trailer screenshot leak being real ever since that guy in this thread got the 3rd hand confirmation on it. I have no big hopes for this expac. The story setup would have to be completely amazing to make me wanna go to Avaloren when I haven't heard of it ever before. And I don't think they are capable of that kind of storytelling anymore. But we'll see in about 40 hours I guess?

Honestly, even the 4 images don't hold much water due to a lot of reused assets, and the shadows looking off... like the game isn't on the highest possible graphics setting when they took those pictures.

I mean the whole Artificer name is based on the assumption that "Tinker is only what gnomes call them". Which actually reminds me of people saying that it makes no sense for all races to be Death Knight before Wrath.

Artificer makes a lot of sense since its niche is pretty much empty, long time requesteed, and covers all technology related races, not just goblins and gnomes.
Elves, Draenei, Human, Dwarves are all fit. It would be also fun if they give every race/Artificer combo some little unique touch, like shaman totems.
Like if there will be mecha ultimate, Draenei will jump into their clssic exoskeleton, Elves will use their managuard, dwarf use their siege tank etc.

A lot of the speculation seems to be based on the heroic version expansion mount and some hints of Avaloren in Uldaman. Previous expansion mounts has and has not been directly correlated to the major expansions theme. So, that’s a toss up, and while there is mention of Avaloren in a report from Uldaman too, that’s not a hard confirm that’s where the expansion will go, though it also could be where we go for the next expansion. These leaks may even be fake, but they have the idea correct for the theme.
