That doesn't line up as the next expac is going to be revealed this year (this weekend) and released next year. They wouldn't be talking about the following expac until 2025.

Truth be told, I've wondered if the expansion itself could focus on a new landmass, and the .5 patches gradually remaking the old world. If Uldaz is related to Golganeth & shaping the planet, this could be a reasonable story reasoning for a healing of the world. Also a reason for Iridikron to target said location for his own goals.

That's what I was thinking would be the case. I'm not sold on any fakeness of leaks yet, but I've long said if there's going to be a revamp of any kind. The 20th anniversary is the time to do it. People will claim the anniversary doesn't matter. But from a purely business perspective they would be insane to not try and capitalise on that as much as they can.

From what I heard the "teams" are too large for that. Give the encrypted branch activity I think its definitely on 1.15(they are pumping out daily builds for that this week) but I also dont think its Classic+.

You know, that's an interesting idea. I've always naturally assumed the revamp would be addressed by a classique time skip 'while you were away', but it would be super cool to actually feel like players had actually brought it about in some fashion.

Iridikron has some banger lines in the new book about earth being the power to shape the world, too. Hmmmmmmmmm. I could buy into this.

Removing text and models, backgrounds just have something off. Especially 3rd shot. Lighting is hugely off, it gives off Unreal Engine 3 or Unity vibe when it comes to lighting and objects. Design also makes me think of League of Legends or dota2 rather than WoW.
And some buildings. Weird to see chinese/japanese building on the right side in the first screenshot. And the buildings in the second one just doesnt look like Warcraft buildings.
It looks like something taken from other game, or something made in Unreal Engine 3, vaguely resembling WoW, but with shaky cam effect to hide all inconsistencies.
3rd straight up looks like something out of Bless Online or some other korean/chinese MMORPG made in the last 10 years.
    Spoiler:

If Iridrikon is involved, he can twist our revival, because we need quests in the new zones right? Other revamped zones don't need Iridrikon intervention: new resources mean the old hatred might return.

If you think about it a lot of people, including myself, opted out of Dragonflight after not playing the latter half of Shadowlands. Having your players completely not play the game until a new xpac is out is like a whole year or two without subs. It seems like a natural evolution that wow would stop making big expansions and go towards free to play and opt in mini xpacs aka patch content. come back when you want, no big entry, no big missing out, no big immediate box price.

It's probably Classic HD or something.

WoW has a Tick-Tock (Good/Bad) pattern regarding expansions, with the only exceptions being the double good BC/LK and the double bad BFA/SL:

    Burning Crusade
    Wrath of the Lich King

    Cataclysm
    Mists of Pandaria
    Warlords of Draenor
    Legion
    Battle for Azeroth
    Shadowlands

    Dragonflight

Following this pattern 11.0 is most likely to fail, but on the bright side, 12.0 is most likely to succeed.

Sacrifices must be made for the greater good. o7

PS: Don't take this reply so seriously, please!

A "pattern" that has no real regularity is no pattern at all. That's more exceptions than actually following it that you have there.

  13. #47133
You can press a button and 11.0 becomes a revamp but Elune moonbeams one of the following three regions of the world into a astral-scorched hellscape (like the Maw but with a lunar color palette). The ash and dust also turns that entire half of the chosen continent to permanent night.

The location is randomly chosen. Would you press the button?

    Shadowlands broke it.

Anyway, don't take this so seriously.

The list is subjective, and even if Retail fails we have Classic.

Dragonflight is mediocre, and Cataclysm being bad is subjective.

Literally all of them are subjective.

So much of the Cata hate is the player drop cause of hard heroics and then reused assets for Dragon Soul.

Which is why the pattern analogy is stupid. But then again, 2021 broke everything really.

Cata was such a banger of an expansion and it only felt short when it comes to the last raid being mostly reused assets minus the last few bosses and a disappointing last fight , but overall i would put it just a point lower than Wrath for example

My favourite thing about pattern-posting is the "...with the exception of X" when it's a sample size of 9.

    It's not a pattern anymore.
