Only issue with it for me is that there's nothing unexpected here. The two most commonly asked for new specs, Shamans for everyone, Khaz Algar earthen from the Algarian Stormrider leak, dragonriding everywhere. So that's it for new features? For the game's 10th expansion, 20th anniversary of the game and 30th of the franchise? They didn't even make some new instanced content that isn't tied to player power or anything? And no mention of the talent tree expansion we know we're getting...

And then it goes on and on about the story. There's a void lord and Illidan comes back and the earthen are protectors who were at war and became corrupted and the Twilight's Hammer and....

Plus, another expansion with "Azeroth" in it's name so soon after BfA doesn't sound great from a marketing perspective.

Name is Shadow over Azeroth. It has to do with one of the void lords casting sort of a void barrier thing over Azeroth. Illidan comes back to warn us just before and Sargeras is out of his prison. He's not redeemed from what I gathered but is working alongside the other titans now that they've realized the threat of the void. He pulls out the sword out of Silithus and through the hole we travel to Uldaz. There is a teleporter pad there which takes us to Khaz'Algar, which is underground, like way waaay underground. The earthen have become "corrupted" by being too close to the titan soul of Azeroth.
Heart of Azeroth is back and Khaz'Algar can only be entered if you have the neck equiped. Major world revamp with lots of void portals opening all over similar to Legion Invasions.

Fun Fact: The trailer is narrated by knaifu.

Something about the trailer being narrated by knaifu sticks for me. Why would anyone make that up?
More stuff:

All races get shaman, no new race at start, shaman tank spec, demon hunters get a ranged spec 2 new zones, both underground, a lot of leveling and endgame outworld content happens on azeroth, dragonriding on azeroth, dragonriding renamed to advanced flight, all flying mounts get it 8 new dungeons, 2 underground, 1 in northrend, 1 in pandaria, 2 in kalimdor, 2 in eastern kingdoms. 1 new raid. Twilight's Hammer and its cultists are back and led by Xal'atath. Updates to archeology and more focus on inscription.

The earthen of Khaz Algar act as protectors to the world soul and have been at war with minions of the void /old gods that seep through as their "roots" get closer and closer to the sleeping world soul

Some good detailed information but a little too detailed. And if you have these many details then he should have the exact name of at least two of those dungeons. This is a huge red flag. Leakers don't ever have a ton of detail but this person has just enough, but shoots with blanks.

I still can't believe people are buying the name 'Shadow over Azeroth'. Whether the rest of the details are true or not, I would be gobsmacked if they went for such a generic sounding name. There's no shot.

I know that i should stop checking this thread now but i'm weak. Here's hoping for a world revamp with more race based storylines, new specs and maybe artificers/tinkers. 0 hope though.

Yeah, I was also thinking that. It's also possible things changed during the course of the expansion's development and they were working with outdated info, but I guess we'll never know.

I mean I think that leak is bunk but the name should have nothing to do with it. People said the same thing you just did verbatim over multiple expansion names.

This actually sounds fun to me. 10 dungeons sounds cool, I don't NEED new specs, but I wish there was some kind of evergreen system and not so much a focus on mounts. Still I'll take Vrykul allied race

It wasn't wrong. If the writer simply assumed Dracthyr would be an allied race. And the actual villains were entirely new characters but during the Dragonflight reveal they did imply Murazond would be a villain in some capacity & he has.

My issue with that leak is it has Agg'orand, but it doesn't have the Everward or the desert zone. Also it calls the Agg'orand Ogres when Ogres aren't native to Azeroth.

All I know about influencers I learned through my children against my will but if they care about it then I care about it but yeah. Mr Beast is definitely someone you would want advertising your game if you're trying to grow the fanbase especially if you wanna make sure newer generations actually care because right now they very much don't.

Again, disregard names. That could have been the in-house name. Someone later said internally Blizzard also used SoA as "Save our Asses" after all the controversy and stuff.

Never, ever discount a leak based on the name. Internal names are very common before the public name is often something different.

Some people think he misunderstood things that were actually added. The "Allied Race" ended up being the Dark Ranger customization options, and the Dragonflight covenants were the Sabellian/Wrathion choice gimmick or even just Renown.
