Features-
• Level 80, No New Class or Race
• Aquatic Mount Overhaul- Equivalent to Dragon riding but the focus is diving and swimming. Most aquatic mounts are able to shift to new “flying” style. Strider’s also receive their innate water walking ability back, but cannot benefit from mount equipment.
• Other mounts will also come with unique abilities, like rams and goats being able to scale mountains.
• Mount Equipment system expanded with new features including grappling/climbing
• Pet battle revamp- Pets get personality types that boost stats and "secret abilities". You can spec your pet stats now. Rare color variants can be found in the wild
• Voice and animation customization- in the creation screen choose your character’s voice and animation style. From a set list, can be changed at any time.
• Allied Race customizations expanded across the board to be on par with core races
• DPS broken into two categories- Support and Traditional DPS
o Classes aren’t getting an overhaul, more so how they are classified.
Zones
• Avaloren- Celtic-inspired island with a large focus on the fairies and untamed aspects of the dream. New Capital is here and will take some inspiration from Arthurian Legend. Watchers of Avaloren Faction-Essentially the Knights of the Round Table
• Khaz Algar- Earthen Kingdom built into a Mariana Trench-inspired zone. Despite being underwater the zone has plenty of caves and pressurized eco-domes (earthen used to withstand pressure to mine) for players to explore. Khaz Algar Dwarves have a mixture of DND Duergar and Aquatic features.
• Sea of Souls- Rocky and watery graveyard surrounding Avaloren’s coasts. Think Bermuda Triangle. Consisting of failed expeditions and wayward ships unlucky enough to find their way here. Shipwrecks aplenty, semi-aquatic zone. Expect to see a plethora of Azeroth’s history from Zandalari Naval fleets to lost Theramore Merchants. Ghost Wolves Faction- Lost Spirits of Orcs separated from their exodus to Kalimdor
No Pirates, but Ghost Pirates. World Boss here is a Ghost ship. Dragonflying fight mechanics to damage ship.
• Noth’Lob Webways- The Underside of Avaloren. A fully functioning Qiraji/Nerubian-esque city, except not in ruins. Spans the entirety of Avaloren. These are Nzoth’s creations sent to tap the latent power of Avaloren’s connection to the Dream. While the upper echelon are more arachnid-like, most creatures are based on Sea Spiders and Crustaceans. The secret behind their civilization’s longevity is the reason Odyn banned knowledge of the Black Empire.
The first raid will follow Tyr’s resurrection storyline (Spoilers for the rest of DF). Elisande experimented with Tyr’s memory disc to unlock the secrets of the titans. She discovered titan discs not only store memories/data, but can be used as a communication network. She purposely sent the disc through space and time to observe other titan worlds and civilizations.
When Tyr is resurrected, he notes that he has memories of worlds and times unfamiliar to him. He remembers a never-ending hunger that sought his memories wherever he went and brought ruin to any civilization that found the disc. Feeling responsible, he seeks to rectify this time anomaly and learn more about the presence that haunts him. (Eventual twist is that we are such presence)
With the aid of the Bronze Flight adventurers are sent to the first raid, the Sacking of Goria. Long before the Empire and South of Draenor lies the land of Goria, home to the Gorian Republic. At a time of political and military crisis, an Ogre Magi used the Disc of Tyr to declare himself dictator. Disguised as invading “barbarians”, adventurers look to restore order by sending the disc back to Elisande. Our actions are potentially the Reason the ogre’s became an Empire.
